Heck, he must be good. I found his name on the list of top 300 players--something I cannot say for our second 4th round pick.

My favorite pick of day 3... fills a need, and you have to love his speed for the position (sub-4.5 second 40)...

I wanted another TE bad in this draft
SINCE WE RUN A 2 TE OFFENSE
4.49 speed from a TE is insane. No many LB's or S's that can handle that speed and size when you already are trying to deal with Witten. Hopefully he's a good route runner since he played WR in HS.

Hate to break it to you but our 2nd 4th round pick might turn out to be a serious player. He outperformed Harrison Smith in just about everything at his pro day.

knock on him is that he gets alligator arms over the middle... not the best trait for a TE
gotta root for a local kid though

So does Aaron Hernandez. I'll still take it.

From what I have seen....he's a little tight hipped, but you can't deny the speed.
Good late round pick.

We take our first guy with questionable effort and heart, but he's got athletic upside.
We need wins, and that's all we need. I don't give a damn about anyone on this roster over wins. I'd trade Ware, Lee and Dez if it meant more wins.

Point blank, he will have to play tougher (don't know if you can teach that), but another guy with a smoking 3 cone time of 6.76....
Starting to catch the theme yet...

It's just a comparison, no one is saying he'll be as good.
And Hernandez drops a ton of passes across the middle. He got gotten in hot water for it with Belichick and seen his role reduced for it at times.

if that is true about going over the middle that sucks. I mean seriously anymore the Defense cannot lay wood without getting a flag. And for a big TE its not like those little guys can really do all that much to you.
Though maybe in this case once he finds out that the hits dealt in college across the middle don't happen in the NFL anymore he might get better.

Is it possible the war room argument was over the kids toughness? I'm going to guess Jerry liked him and Garrett didn't since Jerry seems more the guy to become enraptured with his athletic numbers.
