Default Things we missed on

We were in position to take some of theese kind of players. I guess we were looking for the "right kind of guys " tell me in that mind set would Micheal Irvin be on this team?
  • no center taken
  • No pr/kr specialist don't want to see Dez or Mo on pr/kr
  • No massive DT maybe this is not Robs kind of scheme fit

No, and neither would Randy Moss.

However, Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson and Wes Welker would be.

You can find plenty of top notch talent without them being an ***.

O Line was not addressed till FA. While I like Leary and Adams it is hard to see an impact from either this year.

Didnt Michael Irvin's trouble start in the pros. Sure he was cocky but I dont believe cocky would prevent Garrett from drafting him

Between the Cowboy's 3rd round pick and their first 4th round pick, two Centers and two Guards were picked.

Could be that one or more of those players were on the Cowboys' board ... and they simply weren't available when the Cowboys picked in the 4th.

(I know that Jerry said that they got their targeted guys in the 4th round, but ... )
Answer for this off-season: Assemble an elite offense.

I think basically every single OL is going to battle it out to see who should start. That's my hope anyway.

Brandon Boykin was there in the 4th round even and we passed on him. Not smart, imo.. especially with the division we play in.

I'll give you that, plus you'll see hime twice a year now. Eagles had a nice draft.

Yes would have drafted him as a return guy first and db second could also see snaps on offense as he did at UGA

His explosive return ability alone would have justified a 4th round pick, imo.. but he has the potential to be sooo much more than that. I think he can be a shutdown CB in this league and right off the bat will be a much better slot CB than Scandrick.

I was puzzled at that pick too Roy

We certainly passed on some name players at need positions.

Id like to defer to the Boys drafting knowledge but history makes me nervous about that

People are already whining about us having 4 talented CB's but we should take a 5th.

Trust me....with the QB's and WR's we face in our division and the way our secondar has gotten shredded the past few years, you want Claibornes and Carrs in coverage not a rookie 4th rounder with no experience.

What is more of a need S or CB at that point? Who has more upside Boykins or MJ?

Boykins has a propensity for concussions. He has had multiple concussions in college. I like Boykins too, but his medical history plus his lack of size (Cowboys want big press corners) did not make him a fit.
