The problem is... what good is he injured because of a terrible Oline. Broken collar bones, broken ribs, punctured lungs, damn near a broken hand that was swollen the size of a softball.... And that's been each season for the last two seasons... That's not good...

After this draft, I see an 8 & 8 team. Horrible draft.

Now there's a shock.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

I felt pretty good about this draft before but now I feel a lot better about it.

If you take that play completely out of the numbers, we still were tied for fourth in YPC up the middle, and we were No. 2 in YPC behind the right guard. It's not like we were bad or even mediocre running up the middle except for one play.

What do the numbers say in short yardage and/or redzone?
We need wins, and that's all we need. I don't give a damn about anyone on this roster over wins. I'd trade Ware, Lee and Dez if it meant more wins.

Don't see where the defensive pressure is going to come from. Not sold on the Kroger-brand offensive linemen we picked up, we let a really good third receiver go, and we still have problems in big games that's not magically going to fix themselves.

I would rather have picked up another lineman and someone to bull-doze the quarterback, but at least now we have a secondary.

The Rams' skews all the running stats. Every team has a game, good or bad, that does that sometimes, but rarely do you see a game like Dallas had against StL. The Cowboys had 4 or 5 games where they could run the ball, mostly against bad teams, and the rest was not good.

When they absolutely had to, the Cowboys could not run the ball. Inside or out. Like the last game of the year. The OL needed a lot of help this offseason, and the Cowboys put little effort towards it.

.....Livings and Bernadette and a few UDFA's? Holy crap, romo has to be nervous going into this season. I guess they COULD think Nagy or Arkin could compete but..that's a stretch honestly. Costa? Fuhgedaboutit

That simply isn't true. The guys we brought in last year will now have an entire off season to get better and a year of experience in the NFL behind them. Additionally we signed two free agents. Also, we flipped OT's putting Free in a position where is should be. Don't forget UDFA's either. Another big factor is the new OL coach. I see efforts all over the place!

That and what are the numbers when we aren't running draws and delays to scheme movement.

When the Cowboys run it when the defense knows they're running it, what's the numbers? Laughably bad is what they are. Which is why we had a historically low number of rushing TDs last year.

I don't need a calculator to know our offensive line sucks.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

Correct. Which makes this offseason a failure.

You got the Director of Player Personnel talking about how they tried to win it last year with Alan Ball and Frank Walker on the field. That was the problem.

But he also tried to win it with Montrae Holland, Phil Costa, Bill Nagy, Derrick Dockery and Kyle Kosier seeing the field too. That was the bigger problem.

He addressed secondary and ignored primary. Now we try to win it this year with Nate Livings, Phil Costa and MacKenzie Bernadeau.

I feel like Phil Connors being woken up by "I Got You, Babe" blaring out of the alarm clock.

(One of the only pop songs to feature the Oboe) Only time will tell if our "new" O-Line will be an improivement. Having a savvy FB like Vickers and a healthy Murray could also help. I'm not feeling the same level of pessimism as you, but I do have concerns. Is there another shot at FA vets, or is that market all dried up? I make no claim to be an evaluator of Offesnsive Linemen, but I'd love to hear our coaching staff's candid view of the interior guys. (I don't believe I'll hear a real critical assessment, but I can always hope)
The Truth will STILL not be the first casualty of war

We got the best defensive player in the draft and it was horrible?
As the official head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Jason Garrett is 16-16............"Its a Process of stacking good days"

2013 Prediction: "NO PLAYOFFS"
