What an amazing day for Josh. He makes it looks so freaking easy.
I hope he can stay. But again him staying healthy bothers me. It would be crazy to see what he could have become if he didn't have his problems early. But then again I doubt he would be a Ranger if he hadn't had his problems.

Also I have one more final to take Wednesday and then I'm off to Arlington friday to celebrate and watch the Rangers. CJ vs. Yu, I picked a good first game to go to this season. The series is sold out, should be a playoff type atmosphere. I can't wait.

if leonys martin works out we can put him in CF and DH josh. that would help ease some of the injury issues. we still have to see if leonys is the real deal when he comes back from his injury.

Its just money ... Sign Josh. We have NEVER had a player like this on our roster. He is better than A-Rod. He is the reason we will win The Series this year.
**** JJ 2013 Draft Board ****
1) RB ... gotta get a felix replacement
2) DB ... need to replace Jenkins
3) WR\TE ... need more offense

Another amazing stat: After last night, Hamilton could go 0 for his next 210 at-bats and STILL have a higher slugging percentage than Albert Pujols does right now. He could go 0 for his next 28 and still have the highest slugging percentage in the AL.

Josh Hamilton doesn't try half as hard as many guys in this league and is still better than almost everyone. Keep in mind how good he is NOW after squandering almost half his career and spending two years out of the league entirely, and imagine if he had spent all that time working on his game.

I've never heard anyone say these things about Josh. Never heard anything about lack of "work ethic" or not trying "half as hard" as many guys.
In fact, I believe the consensus is the opposite. His injuries are largely attributable to how hard he plays the game. He crashes into walls, he lays out for balls in the gap, he slides headfirst even into 1B at times - all of which has caused injuries.
In addition when his batting average started to suffer a couple of years ago and he was struggling to hit lefties with big curves that broke away from him, he worked hard at going with the pitch and hitting opposite field and up the middle so he wouldn't be susceptible to pitches away from him. The result was that he hit .359 in 2010. Also, did you notice that 2 of his homers last night were dead center, and one to left field?
Josh is actually a more dangerous hitter now, because he is neither focusing on pulling the ball to RF for the big HR's, nor is he focusing on opposite field hits designed to make contact and get base hits. He is going with whatever pitch is thrown, and driving balls hard to all fields. That, to me, seems to be the result of working at his craft.
I just don't see that he is resting on his athleticism.

Josh has a rep as having an outstanding work ethic. And the fact that he goes 110% on the field is one reason why he's had injuries.
The other stuff about him blowing some early years due to his off-field demons is, of course, very true..

Darn, that sucks. Rangers site on FB is saying the game is postponed. Doubleheader tomorrow starting at 3pm central time.

Yep... he NEEDS to stay here and we should pay him... he will take less to be here...
His talent is UNDENIABLE... his addictions will hold him back for other teams...
He has some built in restrictions in Texas... this is where he should stay... for his OWN sanity...

Pujols will be a first ballot guy... Hamilton is better... but likely will not get in... it happens...
