Most families have dogs and that is what dogs do. Didn't realize that was considered unacceptable. Sorry.

Dogs also poop and maul people but those are not family-friendly either. A picture of a gun is family-friendly but someone using a gun to shoot someone is not family friendly. Cars are family friendly, but showing a person being hit or run over by a car is not family friendly.

That being said, this is just one of many images and posts that have been removed in this thread. Moderating this thread adds a lot of work for the staff since we have to constantly monitor it due to the one-up mentality most users have when it comes to posting images and videos. While I personally find this thread entertaining, it is an off-topic thread, not a Cowboys thread so it should not require as much time to moderate as it does.

It's a fine line sometimes. I understand Reality's take, and it's site, so his take is what matters, but I'd probably have posted the same thing and not even considered that it could be seen as family-unfriendly content. It's something my dog tries with every one of my family members, after all. Gross, but it's what dogs do when they get excited.

The follow is a picture from my back yard that my wife took. You can see in the bird feeder there is a chipmunk. We have several bird feeders in our back yard that are hung on poles.

My wife greases the poles so the squirrels can't climb up them and get into the bird seed. Squirrels have also been known to climb trees and drop down on top of the bird feeders. Well, a tree is above this one too, but the drop is about 12 feet and the squirrels won't do that. We've generally never had this problem with the chipmunks. They go were the seed drops to the ground, but never climb the poles or drop from trees. As you can see, this chipmunk took the 12 foot drop to land on top of this one and then climbed down inside the tube to eat.

My wife approached him (usually the run if you get within 20 feet of them) while in the bird feeder and took a picture of him. He did nothing, but sit there while she walked up to him.

This is the first time we've found a rodent actually in the feeder tube.



Anyway, more information. The grass-less area right behind the squirrel is where my pool used to be as we closed it about two weeks ago. (my Golden Retriever is pissed!)

Yeah, I'm learning as I go what IS and IS NOT acceptable. I can tell the obvious stuff ... derrr ... no brainer. But the "man's best friend" gif (as I referred to it) might have been something I would've thought was okay to post, too, before seeing reality's decision to delete it and reading his reasoning for doing so.

My error might have been in thinking it would be acceptable because there was no body part shown. In fact I didn't think it was a male dog at all when I saw it. Our little female dachshund does that motion with some regularity.

Not complaining or in any way challenging the ruling, just commenting that I might well have made that same unintentional mistake. Must take a lot of time to moderate a site like this, given all our different takes on things and our varied senses of humor.

Makes sense not to let it go, though, given the potential ... heck, the propensity ... for one-upmanship reality referred to.
