Probably right. To much unimportant stuff going around up there to remember all the details from almost 20 years ago.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

I do not believe he ever finished a Landry mile in his career. Ever.

I don't know about that but he certainly didn't finish his first one, having reported to camp twenty pounds overweight!

Traded him for a conditional pick. I believe it ended up being a 4th rounder. Drafted Ron Stone with that pick. Good guard that but couldn't crack the starting lineup w/ our elite line. Eventually went on to have three pro bowl years with the giants/niners.

Ron Stone is a great example of how the salary cap started to erode our talent. That always irks me when I think of guys like that walking away and having success with other teams.

Agreed but the salary cap affects every team. Some handle it better than others. The Patriots and Steelers seem to do well under the cap.
