Ware. Not discrediting Lee but he is no where near on his level. Ware is a future HOFer and one of the best at his position of all time. Ware's play hasn't declined either.
Can't say the same about Lee.

Anthony Spencer has been outstanding in the early going as well, and this is coming from someone who has been vocally underwhelmed by his play in the past.
Guy deserves some praise.
As far as overall defensive rankings, I'd go:
1. Ware
2. Lee
3. Spencer
4. Carr
5. Carter
We probably have the best group of LBs in the NFL right now.

I'd like to see him keep this level of play for 16 games before making a final decision, but you have to be encouraged so far.

Lee has a long road ahead to prove he's in the same zip code as D. Ware. He's off to a good start though.
"I just kind of stopped in the middle of a route, which is the worst thing you can do," Ogletree said. "He just told me, 'What were you thinking?' I kind of mumbled something to him and he was like, 'You're stupid.' "

Its Ware........for now. But I see them as equals in most ways " their positions are entirely different meaning they impact the defense in different ways" although Ware is an all time great. But.........think of it this way.......How many fantastic 3-4 defenses or even 4-3 defenses have their been that DIDNT have a GREAT inside linebacker? Not many. Not many at all. But......I can think of tons of 3-4 defenses that havent done squat even though they had one dominant outside linebacker.
A defense can move from VERY good to GREAT by having a talented inside backer to run the show and make the calls, doesnt matter if its a 34 or 43 either. We have ours.

I have another way...
...of looking at this.
If either player hit free agency right now who would be picked up faster and for what salary.
Now I know there is a pay scale difference for each position, but my question would be who would be paid at the top of the pay scale at his position if he were to hit the market?

Pretty sure you know the answer to that Mr. Yee. I know I do.
Like Avenging Hayseed said, the positions are too different to even make the comparison. I love Sean Lee, but to even match the durability Ware has shown, much less the playmaking ability, he has a long road ahead. Should be fun to watch.

Well of course, but waiting too long may not work out well for us. A resigning around week 10 if he keeps it up would suffice.

Ware is the best but I think Lee has a slightly larger impact.
