Holland is a darn good guard. When he's on his game, he's one of the better run blocking linemen in the league.

And that must be why 32 teams didn't want him.

Kind of what I thought also.

This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

holland apparently has made it known he will only play for the Boys - and that is the main reason he is sitting right now. He is playing the waiting game gambling the boys will fold.

As regards Costa, clearly its not just a muscle problem with his back. The boys probably realize that he can go out at any time and therefore practically speaking cannot count on him for steady work.

IRVING, Texas -- The Cowboys’ offensive line could look a lot different after next week’s bye.

Offensive coordinator Bill Callahan said he is hopeful that Monday night’s matchup with the Bears would be the last game that Phil Costa misses due to back problems that have bothered him since training camp. Once Costa has recovered, there could be an interesting conversation among the coaching staff about whether Costa or Ryan Cook should start at center.

There could also be a change made at right guard, a topic Callahan and head coach Jason Garrett danced around but didn’t deny Wednesday. The Cowboys have the option of replacing struggling Mackenzy Bernadeau with Derrick Dockery, a veteran with 113 career starts.

Replacing slop with more slop. How comforting. They need to sign Holland and give that a shot. His veteran leadership could help stabalize the right side of the line. He did work next to Free on the other side when Free had his best season.

Every time Holland has come in and played, the running game has taken off. Coincidence or not?

I'm not saying you're wrong and you very well may be right, but this is just stupid. Turning down opportunities for an organization that doesn't value you (not that he has much value, football wise, imo) is pretty dumb.

Holland is an above average NFL guard. He just doesn't want to

1) play for peanuts without any commitment and
2) play for anyone but the Cowboys.

If it's true he will only play for Dallas it's a damn shame the team won't bring him in.

I can't imagine he's asking for the moon.

Anyone who thinks Costa will be the saving grace of this line is kidding themselves.

Costa? Nahh... ol' alligator arms just doesn't have the physical talent to be able to hold up at the POA.

When's Kowalski get back?

How do you know that? Where you there? Are you a coach in the Cowboys' organization?
