Is Bobby V hoping for a job of some sort with the Yankees next year? When you look at that lineup he put on the field one has to wonder. He's really been a clown this year.
10 games is nice, but a lil bigger sample size shows who is for real and who can sustain.

Not at the end. At the end, everybody is tired. Who is pitching well and who is hitting well is more about how much you have left, not how you have performed in the last 30 days.
As far as Bobby V goes, he's more likely to end up on a Texas Roster then he ever will be a Yankee team.

Maybe "the end" is more significant with an old team like the Yanks, but I'll go with the last 30 days as all of these teams are playing good ball. Should be a good postseason.

Guess we'll see. You guys have to win tonight. I'm pretty sure the Sox are done for tonight.

Yankees beat BoSox.
Rays beat O's.
Rangers losing to A's 4 - 2.
If the Rangers go on to lose, Yankees and Rangers are tied for best record in the AL, Yankees have a one game lead over the O's for the AL East.
O's now have to win both games and hope that the Yankees lose both games in order to win the AL East. Magic number for Yankees is 1. Texas has to just win their games.

Could still be exciting. Rays dont have anything but pride to play for now. I still dont think they will lie down like the Red Sux tho.
Sux look pitiful. Anything can happen in a rivalry, but they show no heart. Could it be different today/tonite? If Sux can win and O's win, then Wed becomes huge!

I think it's easy to say that the Sox laid down but in reality, if you look at the numbers, the Yankees are playing like they have played all season. 2nd overall in runs scored, 8 overall in batting average, 2nd overall in on base percentage, 1st overall slugging percentage and they lead the majors in HRs overall.
Cano, Granderson, Martin and Teixeira all homered. I do believe, however, that this will not continue in the playoffs. The Rays have the best pitching but they are not going to make the playoffs. The A's are the team that has the best pitching for those who are left.
Lester is on the mound for the Sox today. Phelps is throwing for the Yankees.
Shields is throwing for the Rays. Gonzales is on the mound for the O's.
Harrison is starting for the Rangers tonight. Blackley is throwing for the A's.
Wednesday, the Yanks have Kuroda and the Sox have Daisuke. O's have Tillman vs Hellickson and the Rangers have Dempster vs Griffin.
I think if the O's can win tonight, they have an excellent chance of winning Wed.
The Rangers have to win tonight because Griffin is almost unbeatable with a 7-1 record and a 1.59 ERA.
Yankees have a very good chance of beating both pitchers they face in the last two. They have to lose at least one or it's done.

Sox leading Yankees 2-1 in the top of the 4th.
O's leading Rays 1-0 in the top of the 5th.

2-1 Bosox top of the 7th. Go Bosox!

There is a good chance that you don't like me, but there is a better chance that I don't care.
If I'm not insulting you, I'm probably not aware that you exist.
Jerry Jones in the draft room is suicide on the football field. The line of scrimmage is EVERYTHING. Something Jerry doesn't understand.

Yankees Win.
Yankees now have a one game lead on Baltimore for the Eastern Division Title and a one game lead for the best record in the American League with one game to go. At worst, they will tie for both best record in the American League and AL East.
The question I have is, what if the Yankees lose tomorrow? Do they then have to play a one game series with the O's to decide the East and also a one game series with the winner of the Texas/Oakland game to decide home field as well? Would they have to play two games or would one game against the O's decide both?

Just win and its not a factor.
If they tie with the Orioles they go to Baltimore for game 163 - a regular season game. Winner is division winner. Loser is WC.
If the Sux couldnt even hold on last nite its really hard to imagine them winning tonite - but anything can happen. Have to say its nice to see the Sux where they are. That FO has a mess!

Are you saying that they only play the one game and that win or lose is what decides the best record in the AL?

I would think some tiebreaker would decide homefield if teams have identical records. Like head to head competition. Not sure tho.
