So... we still going to defend Josh Hamilton around here, or is it starting to become clear to everybody that this dude should not be getting max money.
Has slumped all season.
Has had off the field issues
Took off during the stretch run for "injury" related issues.
Nonchalant Outfield play
No plate discipline.
...but he hits a ton of homeruns, so I guess we gotta take the bad with the little bit of good he brings to our lineup.
It's clear right now we are not playing with any fire. They haven't been having fun since game 6 of last year's world series.. maybe after today and being pretty much pegged down a notch, and left for dead... the team will finally start playing with house money again. That's all we can really hope for honestly because it's not looking good for the team having to find a way to hold off the Baltimore Rangers, win a game in Yankees stadium, and then fend off Verlander/Cabrera... or come back to Oakland who would be on quite the roll if the two met in the ALCS.

If/when Chris Davis continues to go off and leads the Orioles to the win on Friday, I hope people don't rue the move to trade him. He was horrible here and never would've reached any potential he had
About Hamilton, he's done. Too much of a circus and not really a leader. We should let him walk and go get BJ Upton for CF and then continue to build around the youngsters Profar, Olt, and maybe Leonys (although I don't think his ceiling is quite that high anymore)

If the Rangers let Hamilton walk, the offense is really going to suffer. That said, there is no way in hell I pay him $200M like some are saying.
The guy thinks he is a top 5 player in the league. He is right. He is, but only when he decides to play like it. He thinks he so good that he doesn't always have to put forth the effort.
I hate to see a player of that talent go, but no way I give him a long term contract for huge money.
Offer him 5 years $100M. If someone beats that, (and they will) let him go. Take the draft pick and draft another player.

Jerry Jones in the draft room is suicide on the football field. The line of scrimmage is EVERYTHING. Something Jerry doesn't understand.

Washington isn't perfect, but he is a damn good coach. That is more than can be said about a lot of MLB teams coaches.

Josh isnt the reason the Rangers tanked. Its popular to make him the whipping boy but that whole team's offense laid down.
Orioles win Friday and then take it to the Skankees!
Baltimore and Detroit in the ALCS!

I guess I'm not surprised at all the "Rangers suck" talk.
After the first few games it seemed there was the air of "This is a fantastic team and nothing can get in their way-- best team in the AL" by a lot of folks.
Quite the change.
But the season isn't over yet. They still have a lot of talent and can do some damage.
A lot of the the same could be applied to Hamilton. After his first month the expectations were set way, way too high. His career numbers didn't support any sort of 60 or even a 50 homer assault. He doesn't take walks, so if he's not on a hot streak he's not adding much to the offense. He's a talent, but he's got issues. I'm not sure I would want to spend $20-$25 mil a year on the guy, but if he leaves the Rangers they'll have a big hole to fill.

Watched some of the yankee game and am just stupified by the amount of doooches on that team. Fans are so obnoxious. They represent everything I hate about sports.
