Rex Ryan: Rob wanted to draft JJ Watt
Quote:

But the size, strength, athleticism; it’s rare to find a guy with that kind of combination. [View Full Quote] “I know my brother was wanting him when he was in Dallas. He lost out in that battle. They took that tackle instead. We kept saying, 'You got to get this kid, you got to get this kid.' And sure enough, Houston ends up with him.

Smith and Watt are both perennial all pros. Watt's already there, hopefully Smith doesn't take too long to convert.

He was top 3 at his position his rookie year, and he's learning a whole new one now, and he looks better every game.

top 3 right tackle. he will be judged by how he plays on the left side. nobody can confidently say he will be a perennial pro bowler based on his play on the left side this year.

ok let me be more specific. what have you seen from him to make you think he can be a perennial pro bowler on the left side? are you basing it solely on his youth?

I also remember how there are about 20 threads on why the Cowboys haven't addressed the offensive line. So when we do take a O- lineman in the 1st round, everybody is complaining why we didn't pick JJ Watt.
Some people are just hard to satisfy.
