Here are two recent commits from Texas.
Klein Collins (Texas) product Tyler Tezeno 6'3", 280 OL - turned down offer from LSU.
(Brenham, Texas / Blinn C.C.) junior college offensive lineman Tyler Edwards committed to the program.
Edwards, a 6'6" 290-pound mammoth, was in town this weekend on an official visit and took in the Mountaineers 70-63 victory over No. 25 Baylor. He has two years of eligibility remaining and will enroll in January.
He chose the Mountaineers over offers from Houston, Kansas State, Louisiana Tech and Texas Tech. Edwards also received interest from Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
We won't get them all, and won't get the best, .. but we are getting good kids from Texas, now that Holgorsen is here, .. which was my only point.

Back Up QB Millard is from Flower Mound Texas.
Back up RB Garrison is from Pearland Texas
Back up QB Ford Childress is from the Houston area but who knows how long he will be around after getting a DUI in April.
Those just off the top of my head and all since Holgy got here.

All three good players too.
I think Childress will be fine.

I think there was probably more than one that liked what he saw from WV.
p.s. I don't believe Geno did anything inappropriate, he just isn't like that.

it wasn't after the game, it was during when the outcome was still very much undecided. And no, I don't think that appeals to anybody to have a team talk **** to them during a recruiting trip and most of the kids said as much on twitter. If anything I think it would make them want to make sure they stay in the big 12 so they get a chance to beat the team that talked **** to them.
Think what you want about geno but that is a senior that was the ring leader of talking **** to a bunch of 17 year olds which shows some immaturity on his part. It may not mean anything or it may show a deeper problem with him in the future IDK but may give some scout pause in the long run.

I am amused by your posts as it is not the whole story..whether you know it or not.
Read some things about this and they originated on a texas longhorns fan forum so it was not WVU fans making it up.
1. Texas, for some idiotic reason, decides they want to have the recruits sit behind the opponents bench instead of the texas bench. Again...completely idiotic.
2. For a good portion of the gamethe recruits, and one of the recruits father, continually taunted and said rude things to the WVU players and specifically Geno Smith.
3. At one point a texas fan said they called him Ceasar because he looked like the Ceasar character in the Rise of planet of the apes. One could, and should, take this as a racial remark.
4. After taking it for enough time Geno, and a few WVU players, had enough and started exchanging remarks.
5. I have read there were finger gestures towards some of the recruits but to this point I have not seen a "finger" picture...actually I think they got butt sore when he gave them the horns down sign. I actually did see the horns down picture while Geno was on the phone to the coaches.
6. Even prior to that they were chanting Geno Sucks, and later did it after the game to which Geno told a reporter that they were chanting Geno sucks but he knows that is wrong because he does not suck.
7. You should not have recruits behind the opposing players benches talking smack all through the game including adults with the kids. But if you, don't start whining like a bunch of little brats when people get tired of hearing your demeaning (and in one case racial) crap and turn around and give some talking back to you...in an easier way to understand it...Don't want none, don't start none...or don't dish it out if you can't take it.
8. One of the recruits said in an interview that he would see Geno next year..sadly the young guy is too dumb or ignorant to know that Geno is a Senior so he will not see him next year.
9. I have lived in Texas a few times in my life time. When I did live there I seem to recall men being men. Now between texas recruits, fans and even a number of Cowboys fans on this site...it seems like they have transferred into a good deal of whining cry babies instead of the men that used to dominate that state. Now maybe they still are a majority of men who take what they dish out and stand up there...but there sure does seem to be more whining crybabies that want to start some but don't want to live with the repercussions of what happens when someone does not take kindly to the trash talk.
In putting it another way...Be like the men of texas of old and the current real men of texas...and quit whining like babies after you start something and someone else finishes it. Sounds like a bunch of whining babies after they got spanked and their team lost. Maybe if they were not taunting the WVU players, maybe it would not have fired up those WVU players as much to go back out there and stick the final dagger in Bevo's throat.

Think what you want about Geno.
This is funny coming from somebody who wasn't even at the game.
I have never seen anything remotely like you describe from Geno. Never. So if he did interact with people in the bleachers, he would have had to be provoked, like BP said.
We'll see moving forward who is right about Geno, .. you or me.

WVU should recruit JUCO Texas schools and steal even more prime Pennsylvania talent with PSU having their sanctions and Pitt sucking.
I think that WVU offense will appeal big time to recruits from across the country. Heck, I am a 40 year old white dude and I wanna be Geno Smith when I grow up.

other thoughts:
UT definitely shouldn't sit recruits on the visitor side. That's goofy. You want them as close to your team as possible. That's what you are selling.
WVU will certainly miss Geno when he is gone. Will be fun to have UT play in WVU next year though even sans Geno.
BTW, as a Tech fan I'd fly out to catch a game there if I could put it together. Time/financial restraints make it unlikely but i'll consider it.
oh and to stay on topic here:
Davis Webb (Tech commit and Elite 11 participant) hit 20 of 36 passes for 196 yards & 4 TD's, and rushed for 60 yards & a TD on 14 carries in a 38-36 win over Frisco Centennial.

JT, if you ever do decide to go catch a WV game, you better be ready to drive some. Morgantown aint close to nothing. You can fly in, they do have a small AP but it aint cheap.

Morgantown is about 1 hour from Pittsburgh, .. but you can fly in to Clarksburg/Bridgeport airport which is about 1/2 hour from Morgantown.
I live real close to that airport.

I travel occasionally for work and drive over an hour so the drive from Pittsburgh wouldn't be too bad. Heck it is 30 mins to work every morning and in DFW that is a normal drive time. I, however, avoid the state of Pennsylvania where possible so as to keep the Philly stench off me. I'd prolly fly in to Bridgeport.
If I didn't buy the tickets for DFW area(including Baylor) Tech games I could swing the budget but getting an entire weekend free is nearly impossible with my kids and their sports commitments. Both play year-round and usually in multiple leagues as once.

As your kids grow up, the seasons of your life will change, and you may be free to go more often.
But right now, you are right, you need to be at their sporting events.
HDTV is a pretty good alternative though.

recruits almost always sit behind the visitors side, many of the kids even said as much about visits to other schools. I saw the interview that said he would see geno next year, it isn't fair to call him dumb as I'm sure you do not know what year in school every QB that west virginia plays is. Geno sucks started in the student section. I had not heard the ceasar remark, if said that is wrong but hard to verify. Bottom line is those are high school students who are dumb just because they are young, they are not men. I find it funny that you talk about people from texas needing to be men, geno is a man, regardless of anything high school students yell at him he should be able to brush it off because he is a man. I doubt that he flicked them off though.

I looked at that but it was not cheap to do it. It was like 150 bucks cheaper to fly into Maryland and just take 270 out.
