no its not. when the rules change, then its a different game. its no secret that DBs have been limited in what they can do, to allow the pasisng game to florish, which leads to more scores, which is what the league wanted.

pure footbalists will watch football and even enjoy a defensive game. you want to lure the fringe football fans, then you need more scoring and in essence that's what the NFL has done.

Are you talking about the same quarterback who has targeted Dez 33 times this season?

Only two less targets than Witten with 35.

Oh and Orton targeted Witten 4 times so that makes Dez Romo's #1 so far.

It's not a lame excuse the game has changed since Pearson's prime years in the 70's and Irvin's prime years in the early 90's. Pearson entered the league 37 years prior to Dez and Irvin entered the league 22 years prior to Dez. Comparing receivers stats from different era's is very misleading because the NFL is so pass happy now.

It's the same when comparing QB's numbers from different era's. The NFL is a different game now because of all the rule changes that have helped open up the passing game. You never saw receivers with 100+ catches 30 years ago or 5000 yard passers.

I am pretty sure if you compare his stats to Calvin Johnson, Cruz, and others they'd be pretty close. Its just because he wears 88 and is a Cowboy that we want to criticize him. Compared to a lot of other first round receivers he has done quite well.

You have to be kidding. Good lord.

Dez has been an abject failure and embarassment on multiple levels. As it stands, he is a monumental bust given the kind of impact the team needed in the first round of that draft.

He doesn't deserve to mentioned with real NFL receivers like Johnson and Cruz.
