Default Getting AT&T U-Verse Installed Today

Does anyone have it? Is there anything in particular I should ask the technicians? I am getting the U300 package for 3 TV's plus some wifi box I can move to my other sets when needed. 18 meg download speeds. Looking forward to the whole house DVR system. $117.00 a month and no install charges plus $50 of rebates for something or other.

All I've heard is people complain about it. That said, the last time I heard a complaint was maybe two years ago. The last person I talk to with it said he was happy with it. I think that was just a couple of months ago.

Good luck with it!

I can't get the internet where I live but I've thought of switching to their phone and TV which is DirecTV. However, with Direct you have to download the movies before you can watch them so its not truly on demand. Also I heard the download speeds were more in the 4-6 MPS range.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

A good friend of mine is in charge of the sales reps for U-verse in the mid-west, so if I have any issues at least I have a way to address them. There were three or four tiers of internet speed available to choose from, and they said I had the proper infrastructure in my neighborhood to handle the fastest plan. We will see.

I know iceberg had issues with them last year. I am hoping for a good experience.

By the way...A couple of tips. You can have the $50 install fee waved if you say someone you know had it done for free. Tip two. After the first year of the discounted rates call retentions and they can give you whatever the new discount plan is.

I've got the U300 package with internet and am happy with the service. I just wished it was a little cheaper.

We have U-Verse. I cannot wait to get rid of it. 3 modems so far. TV signal gets lost around twice a month, and we hardly ever watch TV. Technicians have been out to the house a few times and we had a guy come by canvasing the neighborhood because we have had so many problems. North Richland Hills.

I know I wasn't in your area directly but I wasn't too far off IIRC.

I had U-Verse for a while. It was nice. Worked fine. Never really had any problems. Speeds were solid.

The price seemed to escalate a bit over the course of a year even after cutting off all the free junk they threw in to bait us into the service but that's about it.

I have DirecTV and never have to download a movie for On Demand. It's fast enough it streams just like NetFlix when you select it.

Is it true the internet slows down if you are watching HD tv?

I changed to U-verse two years ago on our initial move. After 2-3 weeks of trying to get it hooked up, someone finally came out to do it. Make sure you can use it with fiber optics, I had to use the old copper lines. There is quite a difference. Another three weeks, a repairman came out and changed the cables at my expense (lived in a condo at first).

Long story short, could not wait to get back to Comcast and they are disappointing too. U-Verse is better in some areas over others though, mine so happened to not be on the better technical train yet.

I didn't like the fact their screens could not be adjusted to size in my HD flatscreen. I called and complained many times and they said "it is what it is". Also, liked Comcast DVR set-up better but I would give the edge to U-Verse in internet speed once I got my fiber cables.
Everyone has a plan, until they get hit.

I've had it over a year now. The only problems I've had were during the install period. I got some bad boxes. No problems since. The DVR and channels are good. The ONLY thing bad is the feed compression. It's more compressed than other cable providers since the tv and internet come in on the same line :/

As far as internet, I get like 25/2 constantly.
