Hopes up? Homgren is so overrated it's not funny. No thanks.

Got to the Superbowl three times as a coach, won one of them, lost one of them, and got screwed out of one of them.
I don't agree that he is over-rated.

No one said he was overrated as a coach he is a great HC he is overrated when it comes to a GM postilion.

The OP was referring to Holmgren as a "personnel guy" and so was I. He is awful at best.

Holmgren as coach I would love to see
As GM he might be one of the few like Matt Millen that make Jerruh look really good

This.
He's proven to be a great coach. He's also proven to be a miserable personnel guy.

105.3 the fan reporting that Holmgren and JJ have always liked each other and have mutual admiration. They think he could end up here because of that.
Take it for what it's worth.
Personally I don't see it happening.

Seriously, all he got out of that Julio Jones trade with Atlanta was Brandon Weeden?
|
That's how I feel. I will forever blame Holmgren for not getting RG3 when he had every advantage, and if I was the owner I would undoubtably fire him.

They were offered a deal they couldn't refuse. RGIII in Cleveland wouldn't be the same RGIII in Wash. Wash has a much better team around him than Cleveland does.

While I do agree, one thing about the NFL is, if you don't have a franchise QB, you are either treading water or sinking. RG3 was a chance for Cleveland to make a huge move in a positive direction and they didn't and will be treading water for the for seeable future unless another franchise QB falls in their lap.
And CLE was pretty hesitant about giving up too much to get RG3, if they wanted him as much as washington, they easily coul've beaten their offer because no matter what the 4th pick > the 6th pick (not to mention they picked before washington in round 2 as well). The rest was just details to be worked out.

He'd make an interesting consultant in Dallas. The kind of guy Jason could definitely learn things from. I could see something being worked out on an interim basis, and I'd be all for it.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

I hope Holmgren doesn't mind punching a time clock.
