Wow... Finally someone who agrees with me. He's so overrated.
Here's the question I'll ask for the millionth time... Why can't OU copy Alabama or even a Notre Dame or K-State and just play some good old fashioned power football? I think throwing the ball every down and these super-hurry-up offenses should be only for undermanned gimmick teams and maybe teams who happen to have the rare mega great QB who can handle it. Landry Jones would not fit that for me.
You can recruit some of the best kids in Texas and the midwest... Get better in the trenches and use that power.
And BTW, since you're an OU fan... What do you think of Switzer saying recently that they just don't have the top talent on defense, the Selmons or even the Tommie Harrises up front? He's right, of course. But I don't see why they don't, especially since Texas has been down for a couple of years.

Both Mack Brown and Bob Stoops have overstayed their welcome (and their 1 championship years ago). The Big XII is changing...for the 3rd straight year, neither of them will be in the mix for the championship after dominating the 2000s.
Both coaches always recruit well and have plenty of talent but seem to not be able to get the most out of them. Then they end up playing in a lesser bowl vs. a lesser team and they dominate based on the talent mismatch, making their bowl records look great, which overrates their value.

The Irish surprised me tonight. Golic will be beside himself Monday morning.
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

so if Texas played ND 5 times I wonder if we could get a first down in at least two of the games.

Jerry Jones in the draft room is suicide on the football field. The line of scrimmage is EVERYTHING. Something Jerry doesn't understand.

He's not the only one. Sportscenter just lead off with this game, not the World Series, not #1 stomping undefeated #11,not #2 losing, not the huge trade in the NBA, no #5 beating #9 is what they lead off with.

I live in KC and always pull for the Midwest teams... Fly over country is more important than most people realize. Pride factor. Where do you live?

I hate OU more than any other football program....that being said, they are in the Big 12, and I really wanted them to kick the dog poop out of ND. Unfortunately that didn't happen.
I guess ND is actually for real this year, and might run the flipping table all the way to a date with the Crimson Tide, if Bama gets past LSU and the SEC Championship game.
I dont care if we have 2 ILBs, if Teo is on the board when we pick, and he is the BPA, we would be fools not to take him. FOOLS

Cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame,
Wake up the echoes cheering her name,
Send a volley cheer on high,
Shake down the thunder from the sky.
What though the odds be great or small
Old Notre Dame will win over all,
While her loyal sons are marching
Onward to victory.
Way to GO ND!!!!!

You're preaching to the choir here. That gimmick offense is something you do when you're undermanned or, like you said, when you do have that great QB. To use it as your base offense no matter the QB doesn't make sense to me. I personally hate it. I want balance.
I was hoping Mike Stoops' return would show the talent level on defense is better than people think. I still think it is.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.
