DMN: Dallas PD called to Tyron Smith's home as 'known suspects' demand money

At 2:17 p.m. Tuesday, Tyron Smith, second-year tackle for the Dallas Cowboys, called 911. According to a Dallas police incident report, the 21-year-old said that people he knows had shown up at his Northwest Dallas house, off Northwest Highway between Marsh Lane and Midway Road, demanding money. Specifically, per the DPD’s brief account, they had come to “harass and torment” him “in the pursuit of collecting financial gain.”
That’s all the information Dallas police say they have at present.
Update: Joe Panos, Smith’s agent, says this morning, “This is a family matter, a private matter and we’ll address it when we feel like it’s appropriate.”

He's not the type of guy I would want to "intimidate" to do anything. Kudos for him for not uppercutting those miscreants Cleveland bus driver style.

Not good news...
Tyron seems like a good guy, I hope he doesn't have a poor network of friends/family trying to take advantage of him. Cut the ties before they corrupt you!

The Cowboys have major problems. However, Tyron Smith is the living embodiment of the star. Smith is what a Dallas Cowboys football player should look like and strive to be.
Tyron Smith is the best/most valuable player on this team. Without him, all those pretty wide receivers and the QB have no chance. Smith is an elite run blocker on an offensive line which lacks competent offensive line run blocking, too.
Furthermore, I bet he graded out high in this last game, too. I watched him when I looked back at the offense. There were a couple of negative plays, but the Cowboys threw the ball near 70 times. Tyron looked great, and I bet the coaches noticed, especially his offensive line coach.

Geez, I hope this doesn't turn into the 90s Cowboys without the rings.

Apparently these are his family members trying to gain financially. The DMN describes Smith as "emotionally distraught."
Not good. Feel bad for the guy. If you can't trust family, who can you trust?
