Actually I thought I saw a stat somewhere that they were averaging 5 yards running behind Tyron and 2.5 behind everybody else? Anybody subscribe to PFF?

Given the way PFF does their "rankings," I would guess that it's almost entirely because of penalties.

Pretty simple -- the positives of Ware's sacks are being offset by all of his off-sides penalties.

Do you feel like PFF is biased against the Cowboys?
I don't agree with the formulas they use to put together all of their rankings, however, its the only system I am aware of that is publicly available that does compare players against one another across the league using statistics.
I'm open for alternatives methods burmafrd -- do you have any ideas?

Yeah, I hate to see him go, it's just that he's going to command more money than would be reasonable for the Cowboys to pay. I just hope it doesn't have a Jarret Johnson effect. The Ravens found out after letting him get away in the off-season just how valuable that guy was to the run defense.

They don't use stats for their rankings, they use subjective grades.

Ware has been penalized only three times this season, for only 15 yards. Clay Matthews, Von Miller, Melvin Ingram and Aldon Smith all have more penalty yards and at least as many penalties.

Adam:
Is that penalties or accepted penalties?
I believe PFF measures all penalties (accepted or not) in their measurements which kinda makes sense to me if you are truly trying to determine how well a player is playing.

I'm guessing they include penalties that shouldn't have been called, too. And penalties that were the fault of a player other than the one who was named.

having watch a fair number of times where Demarcus does NOT anticipate the snap count- is just so quick- that the refs throw the flag because they cannot believe he did not do it. But on more than a couple of occasions replay showed that was true and it was a bad call.
PFF is full of crap on penalties anyway- they treat them all the same despite situation and consequence. Which is just dumb.
Saying a 5 yard penalty that means nothing equals a PI call that makes it first and goal is beyond stupid.
