Garrett was supposed to be the young backup QB, the whiz kid who was being held back by his head coach and who would fix everything when he took over. But now that the curtain is pulled back and all that has been exposed as a myth, all that blame that went 90% to the head coach before is now being trained on the entire organization, and especially on Jerry himself.

Problem is, Jerry doesn't care. He'll keep taking the punches and stick his chin out for more.
Agreed.

No emotion. Just change the channel and do something else.

I don't know what to make of this, but I have had to do this to protect myself.
A lot of us are right there with you.

Ive accepted it even tho I dont like it. What other options are out there?

It's to the point where I see all these threads on this board talking about how we still have a chance if this or that happens, and I almost just want to go in there and post "snap out of it already!!"

I hate feeling this way.

When I first became a Cowboys fan, as a teenage girl, I would literally CRY after every loss...I became really emotionally invested in this team over the years. I stopped crying by the time we made those SB runs in the 90s, but I was miserable for the whole week after a loss. People I went to high school with and those whom I've worked with over the years always ask if I'm still a Cowboys fan when I see them. Not to put too much of a melodramatic spin on this, but I feel like part of me is dying when I see what Jerry is doing to this team.

I don't think that is the case, I really think there is enough talent here to win, of course we have weaknesses but every team has them.

Coaching is the difference in my opinion.

Just to be clear: Jerry Jones is never firing himself and wouldn't even consider it http://bit.ly/RQXEgf

Clarence Hill ‏@clarencehilljr

Garrett beware: Jones preaches patience but also says Cowboys don't have time for him to learn on the job http://bit.ly/SxvQhU

When the owner starts using language like "changing the man in mirror" thats really bad signs. It means there is no accountability within the organization and there is more to come with similar results.

What other options? I'll tell you what other options. Foolish options.

For the longest time I would lick my wounds all week, .. but buddy on game-day I would sit in front of my TV, I would have my Cowboys gear on, I would call my Cowboys buddies just before kick-off.

I would be all jacked up, .. living and dying on each snap.

Only to sit through what all of you have sat through over the past several games, the past several seasons.

I have to watch, .. I love'em, .. but I can't invest my heart any more. It hurts too bad.

For me, I think I love the history of the organization more than this current team. And so, I watch this current team because they wear the same uniform as Meredith, Staubach, Aikman, Irvin, D & P Pearson, Emmitt, Tony D., Lilly, Waters & Harris, Billy Bates, Too Tall, Randy & Danny White, etc.

And in memory of The Man in the Funny Hat who deserved better than Jerry afforded him.

I've gotten to the point that the losses do not bother me any more. There was a time when I couldn't sleep for several hours after a loss. I'd be mad the entire week leading up to the next game. I would defend the team no matter what.
My desk at work was decorated with Cowboys garb and I always wore Cowboy gear to work.

The feeling I have now is 'oh well.' I can't even muster up the enthusiasm to sport one of my $75 shirts. I've been a fan of this team since 1974 and I have never felt this way.

Very well put. Absolutely agree.

With the way the current Cowboys play, .. we are only cheering past history. And that bums me out.

This thread has helped me know that I am not the only one.

Although I already knew it because both of my sons and my wife reached this conclusion way before I did.

I rarely wear Cowboys gear anymore. With one exception: I recently purchased a vintage-look R. Staubach t-shirt, which I wear proudly.
