FWST: Scouting the Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles had been getting shaky play from their offensive line even before this week, when they sank to 3-5 with a loss to the New Orleans Saints on Monday night.

Now the problem is worse.

Right tackle Todd Herremans left the game with an ankle injury, becoming the third offensive lineman lost to injury this year by the Eagles.

They lost center Jason Kelce in the second game with an ACL injury, and right guard Danny Watkins also suffered an ankle injury two weeks ago.

The Eagles didn't have much depth to fall back on, either. They traded Winston Justice to Indianapolis in the off-season.

Against the Dallas Cowboys, the Eagles could roll out a line of left tackle King Dunlap (a seventh-round pick), left guard Evan Mathis, center Dallas Reynolds (undrafted), right guard Dennis Kelly (a rookie) and right tackle Demetress Bell (a seventh-round pick).

Of that group, only Mathis started last year.

The Eagles have allowed 27 sacks, fourth-most in the NFL. But they rank 10th in rushing, at 130.6 yards per game.
