Default Offensive lineman rankings...

Courtesy of PFF:

Smith 46th out of 70 tackles
Free 60th out of 70 tackles
Livings 16th out of 79 guards
Bern 45th out of 79 guards (this one has really improved)
Cook 24th out of 36 centers

The line is 22nd in the NFL in pass blocking efficiency.

When Kowalski s healthy, I'd like to see him replace Bernadeau. at least open up the competition.

I know it's a big switch, but I did not expect to see Smith struggle as much as he has.

Can someone chime in with Doug Free's contract status going forward.

This line desperately needs to replace him and Berny

Wasn't it something like 4 years, $32 million? He's 2 years in, I believe.

7/29/2011: Signed a four-year, $32 million contract. The deal contains $17 million guaranteed, including a $10.3 million signing bonus. 2012: $1.2 million (+ $4.8 million "signing" bonus), 2013: $7 million, 2014-2016: $8 million, 2017: Free Agent

He will be gone next year. No way they eat 7 million.

I expected more struggles out of Smith, so I am not dismayed by him at all. He's a guy you can win with right now, and be great with in the future.

My disappointment this year has been Doug Free. To a lesser extent, I have also been disappointed by Bernadeau. I thought the right side would be better than it has.

I have no idea, but I suspect it is less than 2M, since he has already been paid 15M in bonus.

I expect Livings to be cut after this year and Bernadeau to be the primary backup. We need upgrades at BOTH guard positions....once again.
1. Brandon Magee will beat out Ernie Sims for the backup WILL/MO roster spot.

2. Ron Leary will start at right guard over Bernadeau.

3. Joseph Randle, Terrance Williams and Gavin Escobar will have more combined TD's than DeMarco Murray, Miles Austin and Jason Witten.

4. Bruce Carter makes the Pro Bowl.

5. The starting OL will be Smith-Livings-Frederick-Leary-Free

It should be very little. Most of that $17M has already been paid out.

This is great news!!!! I was terrified we'd have to keep him another year.

This team needs a brand new right side of the line.

You are out your mind if you think this team is going to have 3 new starters on the OL next year.

We aren't that lucky

They won't cut them both. While Bernadeau has been bad, at least Livings has been serviceable, as the rankings suggest.
