I have to agree... This offense is not consistant enough. They must work on this against Cleveland and Washington.

Yeah....our offense was outscored by the Eagle's offense. Just like two weeks ago when our offense outscored the Giant's offense.
But that excuse doesn't fly.
Only for the other team.

This hits the nail squarely on the head. Their backup quarterback outscored their starting quarterback, yet somehow it lessens the quality of the win because he was in there?
The poster that pointed out our lack of possessions due to the return scores is on the mark as well. What happens if the punt only takes us to the 30, and the interception return to the 20... the offense scores more points than 17. What happens if on the sack fumble, Hatcher lands at the one; easy touchdown for Felix.
These are the scores that every other team in the NFL gets to help pad their scoring. It's an extremely flawed point of view to single out an offense scoring 17 points on only 8 possessions. Is the offense perfect? Far from it, but it was more than enough. That's 25+ points in a normal 12-14 possession game.

Yes, but....
The Eagles offense actually outscored the Cowboys offense, 23-17, but Dallas was the beneficiary of three return touchdowns. It marked the first time in team history the Cowboys have returned a punt for a touchdown, an interception for a touchdown and a fumble for a touchdown.
The Cowboys offense didn’t do much, but it did enough.
“We still need to correct the things we didn’t do as well in this game and build off the stuff that we did,” said Romo, who played through his bruised arm. “If we keep creating turnovers and special teams plays well, boy, we could be a good ballclub. We really could.”

The offense wasn't great, but getting two touchdowns and a field goal out of eight possessions (none with great field position) is more than adequate.

Tony Romo's offense averages 17.75 ppg...No excuses for that

I don't think anyone is claiming that the offense shouldn't be performing better, just that using the Eagles game as an example of that is a flawed premise.

You don't need excuses when you win.
I'd be happy to ride 18 offensive points/game plus two scores on defense and special teams all the way to the Superbowl if I can get it. That ring won't be any less shiny.
Only in Dallas does the way in which you win a must-win game convincingly on the road come under scrutiny. "Yes, you put out that fire, but now you're out of water! Did you even stop to think of that, Mr. Wasteful?" Sheesh.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

It would be different if the offense looked good all yr and just had a off day. This offense has sucked all year and the eagles game did nothing to show they have turned the corner. 18 ppg will not cut it

Not sure what you wanted to see. Should they not have returned the punt and interception for TDs in order to allow the offense to have to score themselves, and therefore actually try???
Again, I am not arguing the offense has not been up to par so far this year, but I really do not believe that anyone can claim the Eagles game as a continuation of that.

If anyone like what they saw from the offense vs the eagles then I guess that's just your opinion. I saw the same 18ppg offense I saw all yr.

ok, so, what did you want to see? why keep on repeating "18ppg"?? yes, the offense itself did not score more than that average. many posts here explain why that was the case. They are not excuses, they are the facts of the situation and how the game turned out.

Again if the offense you saw Sunday was any better than what they've shown all season then I don't know what to tell you except that's your opinion. The offense I saw was the same offense I've seen all yea which is the same 18ppg offnese they have been all year.

It cuts it every time if you hold the other guys to 17. Or if you score on ST, or on defense. I don't see anything to complain about here, but, by all means, knock yourself out.

Actually what you saw Sunday was an offense on pace for 23 points.
