That team had a serious case of entitlement. Like they were so good that they could just show up and win. Then they lost that game to the Redskins at home and then won a lackluster game against Cincy at home. Then lose the game at Arizona and lose Romo to the hand injury, insert Brad Johnson for a few games( ) and the season was suddenly lost. We still had a chance but had the embarrassing Texas Stadium finale against Baltimore followed by 44-6. Just a disappointing season that started off so good.

2 things...

1.The difference in OL talent compared to what we've seen the last 2-3 years. Look at pocket the interior OL was able to create in those highlights!!

2.Witten is actually running 12-15 yd patterns and not the 3-7 yd stuff we've been seeing lately.

I agree that we need to continue to improve the OL, and last week was not a good week for our OTs, in particular, but check out hairic's splits on the passing plays when you get a chance. It's pretty interesting to see all the passing plays cut together in one roll like this.

hairic does this every week, by the way. It's a ton of work, and it's a really great bonus for CZ that I don't think quite gets enough kudos yet. Really great stuff.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

Man it is STUNNING how much we have shrunk our offense compared to the way we went downfield in that game.

Not just to you but everyone else marveling at THAT Oline.

It was the same one that failed miserably in the 2007 and 2009 playoffs!!!!

Yeah, the O-line that cut our probable run to the Superbowl short against the Giants. Boy was that second half ever embarrassing.

Holding my breath on contract talks. Hopefully we can get something done.

Romo did get pretty hard on one play though. Scared everyone because he got up very slowly.

I think that was actually the game where he busted his chin and had multiple stictches from a sack!

Pretty sure it was, and I think Shaun Rogers was the one who hit him.

Entering the 08 season everyone thought that would be the Cowboys year after the disappointing end to the 07 season. The 3-0 start once again got the team feeling good about themselves and they became complacent like they did the previous season when they were playing some of the best football we've seen since the great 90's teams.

The 07 team became fat and happy after beating the 10-1 Packers and so did the 08 team after starting off 3-0. They once again started reading their press clippings and their play abruptly dropped off. Even with Romo going down that season the Cowboys were in control of their own fate heading into Dec only having to go 2-2 to make the playoffs.

The Cowboys can't handle success or adversity a lot of the issues we saw back then we still see today. We saw the same thing entering Dec of last season when the Cowboys were in control of their own fate they ended up finishing 1-4 and got mauled in the season finale. When it gets down to crunch time the Cowboys don't even bother to show up.

I hope you meant Romo got HIT hard, or you were just looking very closely at the highlights.

Garrett doesn't trust Romo or his offense he plays not to lose. His offense consists of a lot of high percentage passing to Witten and running the ball anything to avoid turnovers and to assure most drives end with a FG opportunity.

His offense puts a premium on maintaining possession and settling for FG's. Nothing like having an 85 yard drive like the Cowboys had vs the Panthers a few weeks ago and not turn the ball over and walk away with 3 points.

Garrett doesn't see any point in going vertical and attacking the endzone it could lead to turnovers and the loss of a FG opportunity. The only player Garrett trusts on the team is Bailey. He has so much faith in Bailey he even iced him last year.
