Default NFC Playoff Race: Our Week 12 Outcomes

Below is what I believe is the outcomes we need this coming week in order to best position our run for the playoffs - division or wildcard

Turkey Day
Washington @ Dallas

Sunday 1PM EST
Minny @ Chicago - believe it's best Chicago get the division and knock down Minny in the WC race
Atlanta @ Tampa Bay - we could be competing against TB for a WC
Seattle @Miami - would be great for an AFC team do help us out in beating this potential WC contender

Sunday 4PM EST
San Fran @ New Orleans- NO could be another WC contender
St. Louis @ Arizona - AZ a potential WC contender
Green Bay @ Giants - division

Monday
Carolina @ Philly - no real implications but I just don't like Philly

NFC
SEED TEAM DIVISION RECORD
1 Atlanta South 9-1-0
2 Chicago North 7-2-0
3 San Fran West 6-2-1
4 N.Y. Giants East 6-4-0

5 Green Bay North 7-3-0
6 Seattle West 6-4-0
7 Tampa Bay South 6-4-0
8 Minnesota North 6-4-0
9 Saints South 5-5-0
10 Dallas East 5-5-0
11 Washington East 4-6-0
12 Detroit North 4-6-0
13 Arizona West 4-6-0
14 St. Louis West 3-6-1
15 Philadelphia East 3-7-0
16 Carolina South 2-8-0

Its possible, but let's beat the Skins first. This game is huge and its against our biggest rival.

Tonight's game probably has no bearing on our chances. But if you have to pick one, root for Chicago. They have a tiebreaker on us, so even if we miraculously gain 3 games in the loss column on them, they'll still be ahead of us for a WC spot. Whereas if we miraculously gain 3 games in the loss column on SF, we pass them.

How so? We'd be 6-5; Giants 6-4. They'd have a half game lead or something like that.

I believe we'd have the half game lead based on a better division record

Oh I know...I'm worried as heck about this game. I know the eagles have mailed it in, but still impressive win for them.

Eh, I'm pretty sure ny has to lose Sunday...then we.d have the divisional lead. If both win out they have the division.

According to my math, 6-5 is never better than 6-4.

If we win Thursday, we will be 1/2 game behind NY. Then, if they lose next Sunday, we are both 6-5 and we would be in first according to divisional games tie-breaker.
Everyone has a plan, until they get hit.

could be wrong, thought I read it on King's MMQ last week too but regardless, I think us and the Giants will have our hands full against our upcoming opponents.

..yep.

Simple math.
