ABQ, I want the Spurs, and the Thunder.
This team can get it done.

If that team in Boston can get it done a few years ago, this team can also. Granted Miami and some other teams are deeper. 3 of the Lakers starters play good defense (Not to mention most of their bench). And defense can produce offense.

Thing is the offense is clicking and you have one of the greatest scorers the game has ever known. Then add on Nash, Howard, and Gasol. I want this starting 5 to dominate, as they should, the bench just hold the lead.

They are playing to their mis-matches right now. Only player I am worried about holding up is Kobe. This might be the most responsibility he has had on this team since the days of Smush, Butler, and Mihm

You do realize the Lakers have two of the best half court players in the world right? Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard.

So what? They're two of the best players in the world. I could care less if they're prima donnas. Kobe and Shaq were "prima donnas" and won three championships.

Kobe and Nash have probably two seasons left of playing NBA basketball which means the sense of urgency must be there.
No, I don't think so. We have a great starting 5 but the reality is that all these folks who say that we don't have a lot of depth and that we have age are correct. Both of those things are true. The Lakers have a great cap situation in the coming years. If we can't win this year, it's pretty key to ensure the resigning of Howard and if we can be successful with that, I think that's a very, very good goal.

Of course, a championship would also be nice.

I don't agree with that because Miami didn't have great depth last season and they won a championship. You can even look at the five championship teams the Lakers have had in the Kobe Bryant era. None of those teams were very deep, but they had extremely talented starting lineups just like this team has. When you have Kobe Bryant who is still one of the best players in the world, Dwight Howard the best big in the world, two All Stars in Steve Nash and Pau Gasol, and last but not least a very solid role player on both ends in Metta World Peace you don't need great depth.

Newsflash.. you can say that about every team who has ever won a championship in a professional sports league. Every team pays players to try to win for them. Im sick of hearing that certain teams try to buy championships.. that's the point of owning a team!

Cmon man! NBA caters to the Lakers, ala Pau gasol trade.I smell another one coming with Josh Smith soon.Jerry used to be able to pull this stuff off before the salary cap ever since then hes strapped. NBA needs a cap like football does. None of this soft luxury tax to pay. Actual hard cap like NFl. Baseball too. Even out the playing field.

I'm not saying they can't win. I'm saying that a Championship is not the only way t measure a successful season.

BTW, Miami was much younger then the Lakers are now.

The Heat didn't buy a championship? Duh.

If you want to play that way.

Yet the Chris Paul trade was shut down ???

You are reaching. Start hating what your owner is not willing to do, or what he can't do correctly.
