Only if he is willing to sign a cap friendly deal and transition to free safety. He can still be a top player.
It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.

I hope they can agree to a reasonable contract with Spencer prior to the draft so they can focus on the trenches. Otherwise that first rounder is going to an Outside linebacker.

For all those who say Nnamdi should go to free safety: they need to play physicaland actually tackle.
Nnamdi is one of the worst tacklers in the league. And he shies away from physical play.
Some other team will overpay him for a year or 2 and then he will retire. Let him go. The Cowboys need safety help, but he's not the answer.

I agree with this, but Nnamdi doesn't seem like the type of a guy who would do something like this. The Eagles defensive scheme is horrible though. I have no idea why they thought it would be a good idea to make a guy like Nnamdi who has never been a ballhawk and use him like he's one. He does have more interceptions in his last two seasons with Philadelphia than he did in his last three seasons with Oakland, but he's also given up significantly more big plays through the air. Nnamdi needs to be in a man to man scheme. That's where he excels.

I know most people on this board will disagree but I watched this guy in Oakland and I know he still has a lot left in the tank. The Eagles have been using him incorrectly, not to mention the entire team is in disarray.
WIth Jenkins obviously leaving next year, I think we should sign him. His market value will be low considering his recent struggles with the Eagles and he could come fairly cheap. Rob Ryan would definitely find a way to utilize his strengths and he could provide good depth.

Oh really? What have they been asking him to do... cover recievers?
Sorry, he's a bust. No thanks.

This is the ONLY way it should happen. If he's willing to play Free Safety AND play for cheap.

I agree. When he started with the Raiders he played safety and was not good at safety.

Total BS about not using him correctly. He stinks. He would stink if they were 'using' him correctly.
We really dodged a bullet when Jerruh failed to sign him

I'm actually warming to the idea of Asomugha as a safety prospect. I mean check it out, just looking at his frame 6'2, 210 lbs, doesnt have the elite speed to man corners, you know who that reminds me of? Somebody this team had the opportunity to sign a few years back before he went to NO (and most posters as I recall even said he was too old), Darren Sharper. Granted Sharper had been a Career-Safety guy, but in terms of skillset and measurables, Asomugha is very similar. I'd rather have a guy like that patrolling the FS position and then slide Sensabaugh to SS, at the right price of course.
