Greg Jennings is a FA but I have my concerns about him since he missed three games last year and has missed most this year with a groin injury.

Guess what does not matter if they are more talented they just need to be good and healthy because Miles has been not healthy for three years now so all that talent is worthless and he has missed on big plays and part of that i think is the injuries have robbed him of that extra gear he use to have.

I think the better question would be -- How many games has Austin played in from start to finish without being (rubbed, stretched, examined, bicycled, carted-off, jogged to locker-room, x-rayed, etc.)?

And now that I've asked the question, I'm not sure that I really want to know the answer?

^^^ i agree too! Beasley has the tools to turn into a wes welker type player and Harris proved he can catch the ball when needed! I say can miles!

He's been on pace for 1,100 to 1,200 yards this year. What "guys" are going to replace that production?

i think some of you really need to stop playing madden. Austins contract is super friendly and the talk about getting somebody better is laughable. cause the wrs that are better are locked up in contracts. PLEASE put madden away

After one game you're ready for Harris to be our #2 WR? Wow.

No sense in cutting him. Not going to save a whole lot and Dallas is being penalized 5M for writing his contract the way they did.

I am not interested in getting someone better at WR, I am interested in fixing the o-line & d-line so we don't have to throw the ball 40-60 times like we have had to 6 times this season b/c we can't get a dang thing on the ground.. If cutting Miles saves millions of $$$'s then I am for it to fix more important holes..

Off by a factor of 10X.

Looks like if you cut him you take an immediate cap hit of like 4.5M for the remainder of his guaranteed money.

His number is like 8.3M this year.

So you save like 3.8M or abouts.

Exactly. It's not just the games he misses...it's the quarter of a game here...the half game there....and the many times he's not any good because he's trying to run on a bad hammy or play through some other ailment.

He had a little window for a couple of season...but he's just not all that anymore. He's simply not an explosive player anymore.

I'd release him...even if I had to roll with even a second-teir (cheap) FA...or middle round draftee.

To think, some of you who are talking about Austin getting cut have the nerve to complain about JJ being a GM. SMH

I'm starting to become sick and tired of his proneness to injuries. Although Romo hung him out to dry on that play where he got hurt.

Miles Austin is a money vacuum. Since he signed the big contract he has had ONE big game performance for the the Cowboys - against the 49ers last season. Other than that one performance... bupkis. JAG, JAG, JAG - when he's not nursing hammies and can ACTUALLY play.

I say, 'Goodbye to Miles Austin. Fare thee well.

So, I guess you're trying to say that Miles has lived up to the contract that we've signed him to?

In 2012 (so far) -- 49 receptions for 727 yards in 11 games? and 4 touchdowns?

In 2011 (in 11 games) -- 43 receptions for 579 yards......

He is averaging 66 yards per game -- Lets say that (by some miracle) he doesn't miss any more play time and gets his average -- He'll end up with around 1,057 yards.

He will have averaged 892 yards (per year) over 3 seasons.

You consider this quality production from a #1 wide receiver? If so, what a low expectation level we have as Cowboy fans.

The reason this team has not been able to make progress over time is that Jerry is unable to cut bait when all signs indicate that he should.

There is no GM in this league that would be satisfied with a number 1 wide receiver avergaing 892 yards over 3 seasons.

Forget the name -- Forget the star on the helmet -- This player has not lived up to his contract.

I love Miles Austin but he's not a number 1 and unfortunately we've paid him like he is....

A GM doesn't fall in love with his players. A GM loves his pay-check and is afraid of losing it.

We have a GM that has no fear of losing his job.
