Default Quanterus Smith, DE, Western Kentucky

Height: 6-5. Weight: 249.
Projected 40 Time: 4.69.
Projected Round (2013): 2-4.
11/17/12: Smith is tied for the lead in the nation with 12.5 sacks. He also has 35 tackles with 16.5 tackles for a loss and three forced fumbles. The senior returned a fumble 75 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter against Florida Atlantic.

Smith started the season well with a three sack game against Alabama. He was destroying Crimson Tide right tackle D.J. Fluker. Smith's sacks have come in bunches this year. He has four games with sacks and six games without any. Smith had five sacks against FIU.

Smith totaled 7.5 sacks, 38 tackles and 11 tackles for a loss last year. He had 47 tackles with four sacks as a sophomore in 2010. Smith would be higher in the rankings if he wasn't so undersized. Smith looks like he will need to move to outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense if he can't add a significant amount of weight

In that case........he drops way down in the draft.....I try to get some extra picks in the 6th and 7th....and use them on guys like Smith....huge upside and potential but slowed by severe injuries. Honestly the 6th and 7th rounders are gambles anyway.

There's certainly nothing wrong with that and I think when it pays off you win big. Right now I'm thinking we should be getting some OL projects down there or maybe some DBs. We need to hit on a lot of next few drafts big time esp along the lines.
Did you know there are only 5000 Snow Leopards in the wild now and they are confined to Central Asia? However, the effective global population (those likely to reproduce) is less than half that number.

It might actually be a great scenario for Dallas. You can grab one of these guys somewhere in the 3-5 rds now and use the first two picks on Dline and Oline.

There are some good Seniors that are injured:

DE/OLB Brandon Jenkins (originally projected 1st/2nd round)
DE/OLB Tank Carradine (originally projected 1st/2nd round)
DE/OLB Quanterus Smith (originally projected 3rd/4th round)
OT Brennan Williams (originally projected 2nd round)

I don't know how much they drop due to injury. Bruce Carter just dropped from a projected mid-1st round pick to the 8th pick in the 2nd round.
