This has been the trade mark of JG's offense. Tons of yardage between the 20 but not good at scoring TDs in the redzone.

New England has only scored more than 10pts in the 1st half 9 times in 11 games and only 8 times for Houston. See they are not perfect

See Jason Garrett.
As the official head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, Jason Garrett is 16-16............"Its a Process of stacking good days"

2013 Prediction: "NO PLAYOFFS"

Is this a stat that's supposed to be quirky? Or are we to take something specific away from it? I mean, besides the typical blaming the play calling that we do whenever we're not sure we understand the reason behind something we're pretty sure we're not supposed to like?
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

It is. Ronald McDonald doesn't seem to get that both halves matter equally in the end.

Turnovers and an inept o-line which results in kicking field goals

The fail is so strong here.

I understand that our running game is awful, but I think this sounds worse than it really is. If a team has a primary back who gets all the touches, and another team uses a running back by committee, the two backs (in theory) combined rushing would equal the others teams approximate sole rushing yards. Most teams today do use some sort of committee as compared to back in the day,ala Emmitt, Barry, etc.

By not being able to run. We can't run because the o-line can't block and the rb's are on the shelf, fat, or suck (I really think Murray can be a great one though).

Just look at teams who are having bad seasons and I'll show you awful o-lines (Pittsburgh, GB, Philly, Dallas, SD). There are exceptions like Cleveland, but you own the trenches, you will win consistently.

I wouldn't put "first half points" in the "quirky" category - we're not exactly talking about "points scored in the third quarter in domed stadiums after a halftime show that did NOT include cheerleaders but did include an aging rock & roll veteran on stage."

I think - maybe I'm wrong - that the point of a forum is in fact to discuss what we should take away from it. My guess is that our general incompetence in running the football has a correlation with the early game behaviors we're exhibiting - we're trying to establish the run and just can't do it. I'm not sure that's a playcalling flaw, although by this time in the season you would hope we would have adapted to our strengths and weaknesses. But it might be the most likely explanation for this statistic.

That has been a staple of the Garrett offense for the last 4 years. Lots of yards, very little scoring.
