Two ideas to improve the team going forward
1. Trade Demarcus Ware for draft picks and rebuild the team, similar to the Herschel Walker trade.
2. Hire Norv Turner as Offensive Coordinator (assuming he becomes available) and keep Jason Garrett as Head Coach.
I love Ware as much as the next person, but this team has many needs, and has little in the way of salary cap room to fill positions via free agency.
Jason Garrett has a philosophy and approach to coaching that Jerry clearly has high opinions of, and will not be fired regardless of how the season plays out. However, adding a real offensive coordinator like Norv could be just the right addition to the coaching ranks which makes things gel.

I would agree with trading Ware if we actually got value for him. The pass rush is non-existent with Ware so if the picks are there, sure. No way Norv signs on to just be OC though. He'll have no problem getting a HC job.

With Norv you would probably fix the offense but then you would have to hire a game managment coach and a challenge coach.

In today's NFL, you can turn your fortunes around in a single season. So getting rid of Ware is probably not a wise move.
Dez Bryant, Receiver. A man who's season is over. Gentlemen, the Cowboy's staff can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first super human receiver.
Dez Bryant will be that man. Better than he was before. Better.... Stronger..... Faster......

Trade Ware and keep Garrett. Surely, you can't be serious.
Now, I'm all for "trading" Garrett and keeping Ware. Too bad coaches can't be traded anymore. I'm sure Garrett would fetch a ... 2019 7th rounder, maybe.

He is serious. And don't call him Shirley.

I rarely hold on to players, the star is all that matters.
I'm all for trading Ware for the right price.

This is the right attitude. There isn't a single player presently on this team who's untouchable. I'd deal anyone for the right price.

Yep, I was just thinking the other day we should trade Ware.
He is probably our most valuable asset, and to be honest, really isn't that much of a game changer for us.
It will never happen, but it should, as it would kick start our team.

1. The Hershel Walker trade will never happen again. I'd be suprised if the Cowboys could even get a 1st for Ware at this point in his career.
2. Norv would probably not want to work for Jason. That's just a guess, though.

You seriously think we wouldn't be able to get a 1st for Ware? I know he's 30, but he is exactly the type of player teams give up the farm for. Hell, look at what the Raiders gave up for Richard Seymour.

I understand plenty of you are disappointed at this point, but trading Ware would be pointless. IMO.
This team on its current pace is in line to get a mid first round pick.
Perfect place to take that center/guard everyone is clamorimg for.
Why complicate matters by adding another pass rusher to the already long list of needs.
