I think she could have nailed that song as the original, that is how good she is. I don't know if Carly is fit to sing songs of her age group like Katy Perry, Swift, etc, because her voice is too big for simple pop songs IMO.
This show is hers to lose, no one else comes close. The only thing I question about her talent is.....what genre does she fit into? Does she have an identity yet? I can't figure out what type of songs/style she should be singing for a solo career past this show.

I agree and have been saying it's hers to lose from the auditions and I agree with you about what genre does she fit into. She could do the pop thing no problem but she could also do a pop/r&b mix because she's got major soul but not sure if her producers/advisors will steer her that way? I really think she could do any genre and succeed at it. I know Disney and Nickelodeon are probably foaming at the mouth hoping she'll do a musical ala High School Musical because she's been on Broadway and is probably a good actress as well. Those movies were cash cows! I personally think she's the next Celine/Whitney/Mariah if she gets good advising etc.

Actually it probably won't be unfortunately. Most if not all of the singers on American Idol, The Voice, X-Factor etc don't have a lot of say in what direction they go in etc until they've been established in the industry for awhile. Especially X-Factor who gives out a $5 million contract you better believe the record label will have a group of producers, advisors, stylists etc planning her every move because they'll want to protect their $5 million investment. They would never let a 13 year old decide what direction she goes in because she's new to the business and they'll want people who know what they're doing. Groups like 'N Sync and the Backstreet Boys had Lou Pearlman dictating everything for them.

Vino going home was a mistake. There are at least 3 others who should have gone before him such as CeCe, Diamond, and both groups.
Paige wasn't too much of a shocker, but she should have stayed over Diamond IMO.
Of course, it is all moot, Carly wins easily and Tate being 2nd.
Everyone has a plan, until they get hit.

Yeah I wasn't shocked at all about Paige and before the show started I thought that it would be Paige and CeCe with a chance that Diamond could go as well. Never thought Vino would be eliminated because I figured the judges would save him.

Here's the link where you get to pick next weeks songs for the contestants:
http://www.thexfactorusa.com/challenge
For Carly it's either "Your Song" by Elton John, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" by Michael Jackson, and "If I Were A Boy" by Beyonce. I personally hope it's not "If I Were A Boy" because it was already done this season by Diamond White.

Why dont they just let the artists pick their own music? This drives me crazy. I don't care to hear Diamond belt another Whitney Houston song, or Emblem 3 do a pop song.
Emblem 3 and Vino both claim to have original music, let them do it. Even if they don't write their own songs, let them sing songs of the style they choose.
I don't understand at all why they do these gimmick nights on every singing competition?

Yeah I agree mostly. That's why a show like American Idol or AGT is better in a way because the contestants get to pick what they perform each week and the judges are just there to judge and not advise like on X-Factor and The Voice. I feel bad for Vino because LA Reid made a mistake with his song and he was in the bottom 3 of the fan vote and eliminated and just a week before he was in the top 3 of the fan vote. As I'm typing this American Idol has that producer Jimmy Lovine who advises all of the contestants but he doesn't dictate the artist's songs like they do on X-Factor and The Voice. I've seen him change the song at times but I think it's mostly on the contestants.

Carly just tweeted that she's going to be singing "If I Were A Boy" chosen by the public. I'm actually not surprised but wish it wasn't that song because it was already done by Diamond.
