Since Jerry wants to be just like the Giants, I have a feeling about Ansah, I think they will see a JPP type.

If we're at 18, here's what I would want (based on my board):
  1. Dion Jordan
  2. Ezekiel Ansah
  3. Corey Lemonier
  4. Kawaan Short
  5. Kenny Vaccaro

Jerry can say whatever he want about drafting offense, and I know all they need on offense, but to win in this division consistently they need athletes on defense. All your guys make sense, I'd add Richardson.

Richardson is a knucklehead. I'm just going on slot value, I would love Fisher, but I think he continues to shoot up draft boards. If Warmack falls to us, he's a no-brainer in my opinion.

Richardson might be a knucklehead but he appears to have real talent. Right now it looks like he would be a great pick for us. You just really don't want him turning out like Fairley.

The reason I had Short on there was because of his size, and I could see him being a 3-4 NT for us because I'm not a Ratliff fan.

Richardson is a beast. He's superior to Short in almost every aspect, minus size. The Cowboys just don't draft players like Richardson since Garrett has been coach. Based on his profile, I would consider him to be almost undraftable for the Cowboys.

Yeah there are some questions about him. I would really hate to see us pass on him if he fell to us though. A lot will come out about him once the offseason comes and combine time.

33 Keenan Allen (29)
34 Dallas Thomas
35 Zach Ertz
36 Johnathan Banks

Of the available players in the combined list, I like:

21 Cordarrelle Patterson (22)
Wow player with big upside but limited experience.
22 Anthony Barr (25)
Another Wow player with big upside but limited experience.
34 Dallas Thomas
Underrated player, IMO. Can play OT or OG. Very quick feet and good size.
25 Ezekiel Ansah (31)
Intriguing player with high upside. Although compared to JPP, I envision him adding weight and playing a JJWatt style of 3-4 DE. Ansah looks better on inside rushes than trying to "bend-the-corner" on the outside.
18 Sam Montgomery (17)
Solid player. Safe pick compared to some others. Good against the run and as a pass rusher. Upside might be limited.

19 Kenny Vaccaro (20)
I don't see a drastic difference in the top 3 or 4 safeties. I would not make this pick at #18.
23 Corey Lemonier (26)
Solid player but athleticism is a step below some of the other 3-4 OLB types.
29 Tank Carradine (21)
Injury should push him down the board.
32 Shariff Floyd (33)
I see him as a early 2nd rounder.
31 Kawaan Short (33)
Good ability but work ethic is a big red flag. I'll pass.

I agree with that about Ansah playing the role of a 3-4 DE. When I originally heard about him, I thought people saw him as more of a tweener. I was shocked how often BYU plugged him in at DT, he's very versatile.

I really like Dion Jordan. His athleticism is off the charts.

Yes, Dion Jordon is one of my favorite players to watch. He is a highlight reel of the advantages of length (height, long arms).

My concern on Jordon in projecting him to the NFL is his thin build. I can't really remember any successful NFL players with that type of build. I might just be overly worried about the similarity to Manny Lawson.

Showing my age but Ted Hendricks.

What first popped into my head were Aldon Smith and JPP, but they were much bulkier than Jordan when they came out. Looking at his frame, I believe that he'd be able to put on another 15 pounds.

The Manny Lawson comparison is interesting.

I have a vague memory of him playing for the Raiders. Maybe early eighties.
