In yards maybe, but not points. That's what matters in football.

Garrett is becoming an excellent coach before our eyes. If anything, the defense has been a let-down in various seasons after '07, and I can't put that on Garrett at all.

I highlighted the 07 season, because that's where most of his reputation for being a offensive genius comes from. I'd chalk up much of the success he has had on offense since then to Romo.
Granted, the defense has struggled, but you can't put Red Zone issues, turnovers and penalties on the defense.

At 7 mil a year, Payton would pay about $420,000 in taxes to Louisiana that he wouldn't have to pay in Texas. that's a large chunk of cash....

Werder is full of it and when the bounty BS was going on he went down to NOLA to dig up dirt on the Saints and couldn't find any.
He's a scumbag.
If Benson was going to sue the league he should have already sued them for the whole bounty fabrication.
The league wanted to make sure the Saints weren't the first team to host their own Super Bowl.
That's all that was about. If you think different you're wrong.

Galloway already said this week that he'd been told Jerry was ready to go to 8 mil to get Sean.

Strong legal reasons like the Cowboys and Redskins cap issues?

I'm guessing Benson would sue the league for voiding the contract which allowed Payton to be a FA. He's going to have a difficult time with a lawsuit because the league does have the right to void the contract. Furthermore, the league could always say that they never prevented Payton from re-signing with the team. Just voiding a contract with Payton and Loomis involved.
