I like the player, but the 19th pick seems high for him; jmo.
I know we can't predct how things will go, but if we knew things would fall the way you them and we had willing trade partners...
I'd trade our 19th and 51st picks to land two very good players at the end of the 1st round.
So the 1st three picks would be:
29) Jonathan Jenkins, DT, Georgia
30) Barrett Jones, G/C, Alabama
83) Robert Lester, S, Alabama

How are you acquiring two late 1st round picks? No team holds two. It would take more than one trade and isn't very realistic.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

The Chiefs pretty much have to go QB. That's a recipe for another reach.

yeah. The value fits, but the odds of finding two trade partners is tough.
That's why I said willing trade partners.
Agreed, tough to pull off.

But it works in Madden!

Rams have two (Wash), but both picks are right around where the Cowboys already draft.

I was talking about two late 1st round picks we could acquire in a trade down. In order to pick 29th and 30th, we'd have to make a trade down for one and a trade up for the other.

That's correct.
And while Jerry has pulled multiple trades with mutiple teams on draft day before, getting just the right combination needed to get those exact two players would be very tough. Making more than one trade, however, would not be out of the norm...he does it all the time. it's just a bit far-fetched ina mock draft.
I was just having fun without using unrealsitic trade values. It just seemed like given the players on the board vs value and need, a trade down would have worked.

To make those moves, you wouldn't be picking in either the 2nd round or the 3rd round and would lose the pick we got in the initial trade down. Maybe more this year or maybe a pick next year.
No way would I do that. We need more picks not less.

I would be very sad to see Dion Jordan go right before we pick. I would really like to see him end up a cowboy, for now.

You could:
Trade #19 for #31 and #63.
Trade #51 + #63 for #28.
I liked the idea of the Cowboys trading down when I thought that their pick would be below #16. Trading down from #19, you're probably just skipping over a player like Jonathan Cooper.
I not certain that the quality of players at #28 are going to be that much better than the players available at #51.

That's right.
I was thinking trade our 1st(19) and 5th(147) for the 29th and 61st.
KEEP the 29th.
Then trade our 51st and that 61st for the 30th and 126 plus maybe a 6 or 7.
KEEP the 30th.
So two trades gives us 2 1st rounders and more picks in aggregate.
So you end up with
2.. 1st rounds
0.. 2 nd
1.. 3rd
2.. 4ths
0..5th
2..6ths
1..7th (but I think we lost that pick already?)
Then take Jon Jenkins, Barrett Jones, and the Bama Saftey with the 1st three picks
