Especially, without Dez.
But yeah, we always have a chance, no matter what. We are the Super Cowboys.

Maybe instead of saying "real fans" it should just be "good fans" or "bad fans." There's certainly a difference between those who will root for their team no matter what and those who will complain no matter what. Yes, we haven't been a contender in a while. But, there are some who never gave up and some who threw in the towel and whined like babies. They shouldn't be lumped together.

This statement means nothing. There are 29-30 teams who are in the same boat.
I didn't think we had a chance against the Bengals. I was wrong. Happily so.
I don't think we have much of a chance against the Steelers. Am I wrong? I hope so.
But one thing I won't do is give up on them.
I know what this team is. When healthy, we are a marginal playoff team. With all the injuries, we will probably fall short of that.
But I'm not giving up.
Being realistic doesn't mean purposely blowing games for higher draft picks. Being realistic means accepting who we are and hope we win every single Sunday.
I hope we destroy the Steelers.

There are some who whine constantly...
But majority of the guys who get attacked, are just keeping it real.
For instance all I said is, if Dez is shut down, we are done. I get called a quitter.
It's being real, we haven't moved the ball unless Dez is taking on double coverage or we force it to him, and he still kills his man.
So yes, if Dez or Romo where to ever go down, I will throw in the towel, unless we made a trade for a Megatron or Brady, which won't happen.

I would define it by maturity, actually.
Acknowledging the obvious flaws in this team over the years doesn't make you a bad fan. It makes you objective and rational. I know my Cowboys brother burm will be rooting like I will on Sunday. That is besides the point when dissecting the issues with this team.
There are actually people here who dislike you if you're not on board with their view of the team. That is about as childish as anything you'll ever read on these boards.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

I wish we would get just as annoyed at our losing franchise as we get when people question our "America's Team" title.

Then you must have held the same belief about the 2007 Giants and the 2010 Green Bay Packers, correct? How did that realism work out for you? The Giants were 6-6 at one point, no one could have reasonably said they would go on to win the SB. The Packers were 8-6 at one point, having lost to the likes of the Detroit Lions in week 13 by a score of 7-3. No way they could win the SB, given the state of the team at that point, huh?
Yes, chances are we won't win the SB this year. Wow, what profound insight. You and the rest of the realists are doing one thing and one thing only, stating the incredibly obvious and then telling everyone else how real you are. Really, it's no different than looking out the window, see that it's pouring rain and then telling everyone around you that there is a really good chance they're going to get wet when they walk outside. Just incredibly insightful stuff. Guess what? Everyone here already knows the odds are against the Cowboys this year. Your "dose of reality" hasn't provided any additional insight at all. That's the reality.

IMO, that's called quitting. Not keeping it real. Stranger things have happened in the NFL. Just my opinion though. I know there are others who agree as well. I understand things people say won't always be full of sunshine and daisies but there's something to be said about those who rarely ever say anything positive.

Yesterday I watched a video on the Pittsburgh post gazette.
It was with writer ed bouchette. I think he is the guy that hates the cowboys and never votes any into the hall, I may be wrong on that tidbit...
anyway he was breaking down tomlins press conference and he said...
"then tomlin said a bunch of things about the Dallas Cowboys and nobody Cares"
I laughed.

Maturity, intelligence, etc. Sure, I'd say that's what defines a good fan. And just for the record I think I'm somewhere in between a good fan and a bad fan. There's a lot about the team I don't know. I'm not trying to call anyone out. There are people on here who blow me away with all they know and how they never give up on the team.
I don't think acknowledging flaws makes anyone a bad fan. If that's how it sounds I'm not communicating well enough. How you handle yourself and the things you say about the team even when they're losing is where good and bad start to separate.

The raper should shut the heck up. World's team? Yeah, if you include the refs who helped the Squeelers win those Superbowls.

I don't know who is a kool aid drinker. I'm certainly not one. A kool aid drinker would say this team is going to the Super Bowl no doubt about it. A realistic fan like me says this team is 7-6 in the thick of a wild card or division title with 3 weeks to go and still something to play for. While this team does have something to play for then I will be rooting for them to WIN. Not rooting for a higher draft pick or we can't win if such and such isn't playing.
As for celebrating small wins, LOL what the heck is a 'small win' in this league. That doesn't exist. Wins are extremely hard to come by in this league. Just keep telling us how great Parcells was while he was here and I'll keep rooting for my favorite team to win.

I get the feeling that a lot of people aren't familiar with the origins of "America's Team". It seems like most believe that it's a moniker created by the Cowboys.
