Default Cowboys K Dan Bailey ties club record with seventh game-winning field goal

ARLINGTON — It took nine seasons for former Cowboys kicker Rafael Septien to establish a club record with seven game-winning field goals. Dan Bailey has already tied that mark in his second NFL campaign. Bailey made a 21-yard try in overtime, lifting the Cowboys to a 27-24 victory over Pittsburgh.

“You always enjoy those moments,” Bailey said. “Every game it’s very rare that you get a lot of opportunities. The more chances you can have to get out there and help the team out the better. And it’s always fun to put the final points on the board.”

Earlier in the game, Bailey converted a 50-yard attempt and has now connected on 27 of 29 tries this season

Nice to have a trustworthy kicker for awhile. Made all the calls for re-signing Nick Foulk seem like a memory.

This guy is incredible. He's always been crazy accurate, but this year his leg strength has improved drastically with no drop off in accuracy whatsoever.

It is crazy that in 2 years he has had 7 GW kicks. Way too many close games. We are minus 11 in points differential for the year. That is incredible in and of itself.

He is obviously a big factor in a good portion of our victories.

Anybody think he could have made the 61 yarder?

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

I will praise the right guy, Tony Romo's 18th (club record) 4th Quarter Comeback or OT victory.

Don’t’ know, but he thought he could. I read he was pushing for Garrett to let him kick. Gotta like that confidence.

Me too........the team. This is the best the Cowboys have looked all season, IMO. Especially with the athletes fielded.

Thing is........Do the Stealers suck that bad? Or..........dare I say it?

Strange, I read last week that Bailey had not made a significant FG in his career.

That is the NFL. Lots of close games by most teams.
