You forgot Greg Ellis could not only play TE but would be an All Pro.

I don't see this being a real possibility.

I really don't think he could play safety.

Sims to safety isn't THAT crazy of an idea and it's unfair to the OP to make that kind of comparison. Darren Woodson was an undersized LB in college and that worked out pretty well, so the precedence is there.

However...

I don't think Sims has the fluidity and long range coverage ability that would be needed to succeed. 20 years ago, it might have been possible, but the game has changed.

Yes, RR said that he tried to get Al to draft him as a safety while RR was at Oakland.

I thought it was Dallas that considered that idea, but anyway, I remember reading that someone associated with the team did.

Oh, that's right. It was Ryan when he was in Oakland.

I thought it was Dexter Coakley that people wanted to move to Safety.
Captain Nathan Brittles: "Only the man who commands can be blamed. It rests on me... mission failure!"

"Jerry Jones is a billionaire fan who bought his own team for the express purpose of buying his way into the game. He wants to hang out with the players, stand in front of the cameras, be the face of the team (yech), make personnel moves as if this were a video game, and more than anything else, be seen as the guy who made it all happen."
