What player would you select in the 1st round??
What player and/or position would you select for the team in the 2013 Draft? Keep in mind our draft position 17th to 28th(depending if we trade back) and the availability of the player. In the last few mock drafts I've viewed, many different players are listed so I expect the same with this forum.
The top vote receivers in the mocks are as follows in order of their totals.
John Jenkins(10), Chance Warmack(6), Kenny Vacarro(3), Jesse Williams(3), Jonathan Cooper(3).
So what player would you select and what position is the most important to fill?

Jonathan Cooper - I would take him even if he in only an OG; however, I think he can play Center which totally puts him over the top, IMO.

Jonathan Cooper - just the kind of athletic interior OL that Garrett wanted to get originally. Great out on the edge in space when he pulls and gets to the second level. Great fit for our team and a great player in his own right.

I read some info on another forum that said Cooper played at 280 lbs despite his listed weight of 310. The information came from a scout, so take it for what it's worth. If he played at that weight, the Cowboys need to stay away.

North Carolina's Jonathan Cooper (6-3, 288) also has a shot for the first round.
"Great athlete," one scout said. "Can make all the blocks. You watch him move, especially for a zone team, he'll be right up their alley. Problem is the guy played at 280."

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinal always has interesting scout quotes about potential draft picks, but they always seem to throw in something negative about every player.

Who are we going to sign in FA?
This is a team who is battling several major injuries to
key players including Pro Bowl talents like Lee, Austin, Jenkins, Murray,
Carter and Ratliff. Other key starters missing include Costa, Smith, Church and
Coleman. That is 11 key players - that's half the starting lineup. Yet we still went 8-8.

Thanks for that. If Cooper is that small, he will crash and burn when faced with 330lb dlinemen.

Would love Warmack and Murray - but I think Murray gets pushed into the first by the time all is said and done.

I'll be happy with Warmack or Cooper. I don't care if Cooper played at 280.

Sheldon Richardson would be a huge upgrade to the DL and could give some JJ Watt type play IMO.

What's the splash position of the month? Safety?
You got it. We're going to target a $10 mil a year Safety in FA and then we're going to package our 1st and 2nd round draft picks to move up and snag the best Safety in the draft.
That will solve ALL our problems !!!
