Seattle got Kam Chancellor in the 5th round...
Washington got Morris in the 6th round...
To be frank, this team needs to draft better in the later rounds. There are players to be found but for some reason we always tend to go cute. The depth on this team is abysmal every year b/c of the lack of quality being drafted on the 2nd/3rd day of the draft. Are any of the scouts being held accountable here? Does anybody even know their names? With Jerry handing out 50 million contracts like hot cakes, the salary cap is screwed, the only way to get out of this mess is to start drafting better, period.

Romo 2004
Ratliff 2005
Austin 2007
That's only 3 and the last one was half a decade ago.
Maybe Church goes on this list, however, he has to start more than 3 games in his career before I'm ready to draw any conclusions.

That is cause other teams try to find starters later in the draft, while Jerry is drafting special teams fodder with 1/2 the picks. Go back and listen to him speak, every time it is we think he can contribute on special teams, who really cares.

Yep ... same old story for the past 16 years.
Jerry Jones proving to the world he's a football maverick.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

Special teams is what can keep a roster spot for the player while he hopefully develops at his position.

It'd be great to stumble on to another Ratliff-level superstar in the late rounds who's quality from day 1, but it's not like that's a regular occurrence across the league. Seattle's recent drafts have had plenty of misses high and low. Same with Washington.
That all said, Dallas does seem to focus on utility players on Day 3 - 3rd/4th CB, 3rd/4th WR, 2nd/3rd TE, FB, special teamers. DL seems to be the exception -- Lissemore and Brent.

True, but you draft the best players and put together your ST roster with said players. Unless he is a return man, you dont draft players specifically to play special teams in my opinion.
