My memory is a bit fuzzy here but as I recall, BR was caught with a 17 year old girl in the stall of a bathroom while his boys prevented anybody from entering. Completely different set of circumstances.

This woman was of age and invited these men to her room of her own free will. Circumstances are very, very different here then with BR sito. Your local boy scenario doesn't play here.

Your recollection of the BR incident is incorrect but don't let that cloud your judgement. The two situations are very different but in both football players are being accused of sexual assault and only the local boy is being defended.

The age may have been off, 20 rather then 17, but other then that, I don't think so.

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_1...91-504083.html

And this was actually the second charge against him for the very same thing. He was also accused of this in Tahoe. I am uncertain of the age of that woman.

In the Case of BR, he got the women drunk, he had men lead them to the Ladies Room and then he assaulted them, against their will. In this case, the women apparently drank of her own free will, invited them to her place and has no recollection of the incident?

No, this is not the same thing at all. I will stipulate that if information comes out that is counter to what has been currently reported, then that might be a different situation. However, now, today, from what I have seen reported, the situations are entirely different.

By the yardstick you are currently using, you might as well say that they are the same because each involved a Man and a Woman.

I'm afraid that dog won't hunt for me. The two situations are completely different IMO.

You are messing up the facts again, and you act like everything reported against BR is fact even though he saw no conviction. The woman in Tahoe was consensual and bragged about it to her coworker. The 2nd woman also got drunk of her own free will, sorry no one can force a person to drink. Ben claims the encounter in the bathroom was consensual and the woman does not, just like Hicks is now claiming his encounter was consensual when the woman does not. You want to complain about innocent until proven guilty, Ben was never proven guilty in either case. Local fans just choose to believe the woman in his case (as do I).

The McCoy/Hicks case is different in that people are choosing to believe in the innocence of McCoy/Hicks without them even having to defend themselves. If you want to have a double standard for local kids that is fine, but own up to it. In both situations no one has been proven guilty yet Ben is a rapist and McCoy/Hicks are dealing with an "attention you know what."

knowing what I know about the party atmosphere and lack of consequences in Austin for so long, I am not going to jump on the side of the Horns players without any facts. Then again, I am also not going to throw the book at them without any facts either.....

I did say that Case is an embarrassment to his bro and I stand by that. He put himself in a bad situation that could have absolutely been avoided. He also has done very little on the field to honor the name on the back of his jersey.

No, I'm afraid that you are wrong. The fact of the matter is that BR settled both of these out of court for significant amounts of money. The truth of the matter is that he was not found guilty because it never went to court. There were more then enough witnesses to convict him but hey, what diff right? After all, it is we who are choosing winners in losers in this whole thing right? Whatever Cyth. You are by far a worse offender in this regard then I. How on earth could either of those women gotten drunk of their own free will when neither were of the legal age to buy alcohol? They could not. On the other hand, the women who was involved in the situation with McCoy was of legal age. I am not saying McCoy and Hicks are completely innocent. In fact, I specifically said that if the facts that have been reported are accurate, then the circumstances are completely different. However, as reported, these circumstances make each situation different in that the women claims she has no memory of the circumstances. Not so with either of the women in the BR situation. Each of the women said that they said no and each said they were forced into sexual behavior by BR. That makes each of these situations very different.

You defend Roethlisberger as if he is worthy of it when you know he bought his way out of both situations.

Roethlisberger has had a history since his College Days at Miami of Ohio. He had several Red Flags even then but yeah, it's us who are electing to look the other way.

How do you feel about Johnny Football beating up a middle aged black guy with a drunk friend last year after he hurled racial slurs?

Manziel was charged with disorderly conduct, failure to identify and possessing a false identification card.

Is this case different?

So are you saying women hold no responsibility and all responsibility is with the man? I did not know women were so incapable of being responsible for their actions.

If Case and Hicks did wrong then they should pay the price but acting as if women have no responsibility seems to be a slap in the face of women. Since they can't control their own actions

You have completely missed the boat on this one. All were accused of rape and none have been convicted. Treat them all the same or treat them all different, just don't bother telling me to give McCoy and Hicks the benefit of the doubt.

Completely different, Manziel is being charged with two misdemeanors, not a felony rape. You should check the facts though, Johnny was in a fight but he didn't beat anyone up. You act as if he is being charged with assault.
