Default Lots of speculation RG3 has a torn ACL

possibly a torn pcl as well. a few insiders and a mod on ES are saying ACL and PCL. shanahan said in his PC today they can't tell if it's from his previous ACL injury or if it's new, will find out tomorrow. shanahan also referenced the AP injury too in the PC (foreshadowing?)...

I think so too. I watched the Shanahan PC on NFLN and it sounded to me like they're sending him to Andrews hoping it's not torn, but thinking it probably is.

Boy was that stupid of Shanahan yesterday. Why would he do that? I didn't get to see the game live, but it was obvious RG was seriously hurt after that early endzone pass where his knee buckled.

I really hate to hear this. I mean, everybody knows that a healthy RG3 means a tough road for us for years to come, Griffin is just such a class young man that you hate to see anything like this for him.

I take no joy in this injury.

Yea, rumor seems to be torn ACL/PCL. Not confirmed yet, as Griffin is flying south to Dr. Andrews to have it looked at more.

Doesn't look good, though. It isn't out of the question he could miss all of next year, if it's a one year recovery time table.

If it is a torn ACL what's the usual time table for recovery? 9 months?

RGIII had the warrior mentality of wanting to play...however he's 22 years old.

Shanahan should have had the wisdom to pull him regardless of how much he protested.

Three 1sts and a 2nd is a lot to pay for one player--especially one that has had at least some serious injury history.

Even if he was healthy, I am curious to see how they handle not having the top pick the two seasons.

I can't stand the Skins but hope he's fine. I think Dallas looks forward to seeing how this goes--Lee, Carter, Church, and Ratliff would sure like a shot at them, for certain.

I always thought it was a year. I know there are some cases of faster recovery, but there are cases of players never being the same (though the one I can think of is several years old)

I doubt after this disaster they try to rush him back. May be best to just let him sit 2013 altogether.

Just hoping for an Adrian Peterson type recovery.

If it's a torn ACL, I doubt he sits out all of 2013. Too many players have suffered the same injury and made it back by week 1. Wes Welker, Adrian Peterson, hell even Rod Woodson returned in the same season, so we'll have to face him in 2013.

However, if this is anything other than a minor sprain, he will have to change his style, because it will only be a matter of time before his knee is shot and he needs micro fracture surgey or something like that.
