I would pretend that we have no Offensive lineman on the roster too.

I love all these useless responses. "Lets pretend he doesn't exist".

OK So what are all advocating? We use our 1st rd pick on a safety or FA $ we don't have?

I want Phillip Thomas from Fresno St. I've watched every state game this year and went to a couple, and this kid can FLAT. OUT. BALL. I'd grab him in the third, but I think he'll end up going in the second. I would be tempted to grab him then too. Easily my favorite player in the draft.

If you build it, he will run...

So what was the "great point"?

Don't forget we have McCray, who gained a lot of experience this year!

No, you address the safety position like it's a glaring need, which it basically is.
1. Brandon Magee will beat out Ernie Sims for the backup WILL/MO roster spot.

2. Ron Leary will start at right guard over Bernadeau.

3. Joseph Randle, Terrance Williams and Gavin Escobar will have more combined TD's than DeMarco Murray, Miles Austin and Jason Witten.

4. Bruce Carter makes the Pro Bowl.

5. The starting OL will be Smith-Livings-Frederick-Leary-Free

Garrett's said the team has been pretty excited with what little they've seen in practice. I think they're pretty high on him.

Still would prefer we bring in another CB/S hybrid in the draft. And maybe another value veteran FA at that position, as insurance.
When asked whether Jason Garrett is the right head coach for this team: "I don't think there is anyone else that could. I think he is an unbelievable coach. We've responded to him and he has made us better football players, better people. If you watch us I think we play with a certain relentless spirit." --Sean Lee

It wouldn't have to be a first-round pick, and we will have free-agent money.

I would absolutely use a 1st rounder on a safety if the right player is available. It was arguably one of the weakest positions on the team.

Your right, a full offseason, should be able too add strength and some bulk especially if he is going too be a strong safety for us

Oh I forgot about those 3 extra 1st rd picks and 30mil in unused cap space.

We'd all love to have nothing but 1st and 2nd rd picks still playing on their rookie deals and established veterans earning 8mil plus a year make up the starting 22...and of course all of them playing at level consumate to the resources spent on them....

But the math doesn't work.

Resigning Spencer and improving both our OL and DL are priorities that supercede S.

We've already invested huge resources in the secondary. For better or worse, Church and Johnson will be competing in camp with RFAs and maybe a 3rd day draft pick.

I disagree on the DL. I think that bad safety play hindered the defense far more than the DL did. I do agree that the OL was bad though.

Been waiting to hear that. If we can fill two holes in FA we won't have to reach in the draft.
But i disagree with the "pretend" he don't exist thinking, it should be more line of a extra draft pick type of thinking IMO.
