Greatness isn't limited to draft position. Elam/Shawn Williams will be there round 2 and if we pass on them it'll be another joke season for the secondary. Either guy would take sensabaughs job. If church comes back as he was last year he will start other safety.

Rambo is a guy who can cover, and he's going to be there at 52. I'd take him there, even if it means not getting Elam, if that means adding another quality player, preferably on the Dline earlier in the 2nd.

Cincinnati has 1/21 and 2/5.
1/18+2/17= 1310 points
1/21+2/5= 1330 points

You will not see a Guard drafted before RD 2 or 3.
He's not big and slow enough for Dallas to draft.

Seriously though.. If we hit on a Safety and Matt Johnson ends up being a player then we could change that position over night.

We didn't draft an OT in the 1st under Jerry until we did with Tyron.

We didn't draft an Arkansas player in the 1st under Jerry until we did with Felix.

I think these absolutes don't hold much water.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

Agreed. Nobody ever does anything until they do it for the first time.

I still do not think that Dallas will take a G in the first round, but that's because there are more pressing needs, not because of Jerruh's tendencies.

The only reason why people are over looking Elam is because he is 5"11 but the guy has mad ball hawking skills .

You see so many safeties that are tough as nails but lack in their ability to cover. We need coverage skills as bad, if not more, than the toughness. The team hasn't had a ball hawking safety in a few years. Which safeties, if any, in this class have both these skills?

Maybe Tony Jefferson? I thought Phillip Thomas but saw him in the bowl game and he slid back into the mesh with the rest of the safeties.

I think Bacarri Rambo is in that mold. Should be available when we pick in the 2nd..

I'd take Rambo also. I just don't like his tackling.

Fair enough, but unless we plan on getting Ed Reed, most safeties are either great in coverage or great tacklers.

Pair him with Church and use Sensi in certain situations, and I think you can hide his lack of ability to tackle.

I'm not saying it is, however if they were graded before the draft as "great" then they wouldn't be there at 18.
