Why would we switch to 4-3 then look for a guy like this. A move like this last year would have made much more sense and probably saved Ryan his job

Jerry is still having nightmares of Melton forcing Romo to throw the pick six to Briggs under the Monday night lights.

Melton will be a Cowboy.
1. Brandon Magee will beat out Ernie Sims for the backup WILL/MO roster spot.

2. Ron Leary will start at right guard over Bernadeau.

3. Joseph Randle, Terrance Williams and Gavin Escobar will have more combined TD's than DeMarco Murray, Miles Austin and Jason Witten.

4. Bruce Carter makes the Pro Bowl.

5. The starting OL will be Smith-Livings-Frederick-Leary-Free

Melton was a big softie at UT. Granted that was a long time ago but I worry about that guy after getting paid.

Ryan wanted CBs instead.

He wanted cornerbacks and then made them not play man. I'm one of those guys who wanted Ryan gone

Melton isn't leaving Chicago...
In the final two months of 2011, Romo’s passer rating was 115.9.

So, the Cowboys are looking for a Warren Sapp type of DL. And so are/have been the other 31 NFL teams ever since Sapp entered the league.

Just look for good, talented players. Talent eats scheme for breakfast.

Scheme towards your talent rather than acquire certain types of players who seem to fit a scheme.

Old guys on roster...if not a superstar they should be gone.

Offense - Livings 30, Cook 29, Free 29, Witten 30**, Romo 32

Defense - Spears 29, Ratliff 31, Hatcher 30, Ware 30**, and Sensabaugh 29

** I would exempt Witten and Ware who have been good consistent performers.

What dont you guys get about the team being financially strapped. They wont be going after one of these top FA DTs. They have to release Free, most likely Ratliff, restructure Romo and Carr to even get enough money to operate under the cap.

We fired Rob too soon. The only way I would have been behind a rob firing is if we brought in a real guru like Capers or Lovie. The defense was in shambles and he brought in good pieces (Moore,Sims,Peprah,Poppinga etc.) and now we're throwing away all of our progress. Not good. With a big NT and a mid round safety (Matt Elam) we would have been a top 5 D.

And build through draft. Good things will come if the Cowboys can draft the "right guys".

Ugh, why am I not trusting the cap expertise of someone who doesn't realize that releasing Ratliff frees up no cap space?

How is Lovie a "real guru" but not the guy who taught Lovie everything he knows?

Wait. Lovie Smith is a true guru, but his mentor is not. Great logic. Keep it coming.
