Yeah he should be fired and unfairly criticized!
Only difference is his kicker came through.

Wasn't Bailey's kick from 51 yards?
If he had had those those four extra years, his kick might've been good.

Um, we never ran three times and then missed a long field goal this season.
The missed kick that people complained about came when we mismanaged the clock and then tried a 51-yard field goal on second down (after passing on first down).

yeah 47 to 51 is actually pretty significant in terms of percentage, but we don't want to bring that up because someone has an agenda.

It's all fun and games until someone misses a field goal.

And BOOM goes the dynamite. Back to the drawing board when it comes to defending Garrett.

Yeah, I couldn't remember what game he was talking about.
Pretty sure Dallas tried passing against the Ravens. A pass to Dez where the entire team jogged back to the huddle and Dallas essentially wasted time.

Play calling was criticized here as well.... not just clock "mismanagement"... and there have been people complain when Garrett called runs 3 times and kicked it, it just wasn't in Baltimore, and (my memory is foggy, but I definitely know I've heard it) Bailey probably made it.
In fact, now I remember, it was discussion about how stupid Garrett was to put Bailey in that position. Even though he made it and even though we won.
That's how bright our guys are, they are mad when we win with it.

That was my impression of events.
It wasn't the decision to kick that posters were criticizing. It was the clock management.

He has done the same thing to end games when Bailey has made it and still took criticism.

We can acknowledge that Garrett could've managed that particular sequence of events better without necessarily thinking he should be fired.
Like it or not, there's going to be learning process with any young coach.

My memory is foggy as well. Perhaps a specific example would help clear it up for everyone.
At best it looks like where taking criticisms from different scenarios and applying the criticism to a scenario that didn't exist for Garrett.

Then if the Cowboys have to settle for a 49-yard field goal, fine, but no coach in his his right mind chooses to win a game with a kick that long.
From a JJT article, Dec. 5th, 2011, loss to Cardinals.
