I agree with you with one caveat: Linebackers in a 4-3 are generally quicker and freer to flow to the football. As long as they're playing a zone coverage in which they're free to look into backfield at the quarterback, they're better able to defend quarterback runs.

That the difference. Taking away the running game from Vick pretty much takes away his entire game.

Kaep is capable enough, albeit likely not consistent enough, to once a team takes his running ability out of the equation he can still pass and hurt you.
He (Kaepernick) does look very good. That pass to Davis was perfect.

As you know, you have to pick your poison and with these read options, it's obvious that the run needs to be taken away first. You have to hope that your first round pick and high dollar FA CB do their jobs on the outside.

NFL having to adapt to what college produces. Which is QBs that dont work under center and linemen that cant run block. Add to that NFL rule changes which dont allow defense played and you have a glorified version of basketball on grass.

What an amazing thing a good running game does ...

I'm enjoying this beat down.

Read option. Running the ball. Throwing when needed.

Color me jealous !!!

What makes Kaep more dangerous is that the 49ers are a solid team all-around. Great defense, power OL, great TE, and emerging Crabtree at WR.

Kaep is spoiled by all the riches around him.

Cunningham and Vick didn't this around them.

Man I hope not.

I can't imagine how much pub Ray Ray would get for two weeks leading to the Super Bowl.

We could have. We decided to go for Claiborne and Carr instead.
