He would be a good Strong Safety, but the free safety is meant for the agile which he is not.

Athletic enough to have 0 Interceptions, 0 Fumble Recoveries, and 2 Passed Defensed for the entire season.

At those stellar ball skills his lack if tackling and you have quite possibly one of the worst 5 starting safeties in the NFL.

What experts are those? The guys who have given us the last 17 years of futility?

Oh thank God. He is one guy on this team who I've wanted us to get rid of for years now. Since Rice burned him in the playoffs and he literally did not know the ball was thrown.

Also, his tackling is god awful. How many times have we seen this dude in the right position but not make the tackle?

He's pretty much the least physical starting S in the league. Nobody fears crossing the middle of our defense.

I remember when most here thought, the fact he played Corner he would be decent at safety.

So let's stop acting like the Arm Chair Gm's would be better...

The fact is, we don't have great FOOTBALL experts in our front office, when it comes to defense...they are almost like the fans.

Difference is the fans would go broke, be negative in salary cap, and wouldn't have any draft picks left for 7 years trying to get the best players they either hear about or see.

They are experts compared to us.....

They live around the game, most fans just watch and drink beer with popcorn while critiquing

Agreed. Like he's done and of no use to us next year.

John Lynch made a career out if this defense. Church is at least as athletic as Lynch. Pre injury of course.

Cool story.

Where are the results to earn this expert status? Because what I see from here is a group of guys who couldn't field a winning football team if their life depended on it.

You must be talking for a Patriots or Giants fan or something. That doesn't apply here. If we had experts we wouldn't be in this position.

I'm sorry, I'm still laughing at the first time you tried to argue in favor of our "experts."

Fact is we haven't had a decent safety here in 8 YEARS. Why in the world would I take these guy's word on anything, especially safeties?

And now he will be 30.

The worse projected starter on the D right now....and second place might be the MASH unit that is Church/Matt.

We are in desperate need of safeties.
