Default Geno Smith's draft stock likely to drop

09:31 AM ET 01.13 | Some in the NFL community are predicting the draft stock of West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith will drop between now and April as teams learn more and more about how Smith is wired. Smith has the physical ability to be a first round pick, but NFL teams are wondering if he has the complete package. "He needs to have a strong interview," one front office man said. "And I don't think he will."

National Football Post

Please dont let him drop to 18.

I don't think it's a good idea. If you want to waste a pick on a QB so early, than take Tyler Bray in the second.

It's one of the most intriguing story lines of this draft. With the rookie success of Wilson and Griffin, Smith figures to benefit from it. No real top tier QB in the class as competition is another reason why he could go very early.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

Couldn't agree more.

Smith's coach says he is a coach on the field and that he's a film room junkie.
If that is true, there's real hope for him.

Should be interesting.

K.C. is going to take a QB in the first rd. Their fans are going to demand it. Now that may not be Geno Smith but someone is going to rise. They cant wait till the second round because Jacksonville, Buffalo, Raiders and Cardinals all need a QB. If KC wants the guy they think is the best they almost have to take him with the first pick.

If they plan to take a QB in the 1st round, they need to trade down. Otherwise, they are just throwing away the opportunity to get several extra "free" draft picks while still getting that QB in Rd1.

Like I said, they cant. The teams right after them are all in need of a QB too. If they wait or trade down then they probably wont get one.

Geno Smith is head and shoulders the best QB in this draft. He has more than adequate size and arm strength with + speed from the QB position. I have never heard of any attitude problems, so as long as he isnt Vince Young I don't see the problem. He would benefit from a year learning on the bench, but he has all the tools to become a star.

Would you want to trade up to the first pick this year?

For what? What player is so much better that you'll give up picks for him? That's the problem the Chiefs have.

He's got attitude problems, believe me I'm WVU fan & he's very arrogant just go look up Geno Smith Horns down from when we played Texas. He's a head case that's for sure but his interview process wouldn't be the only thing that worries me, if you watch his game tape you'll see the easiest way to take him out of the game is put pressure in his face.
