Many of you will remember Eric Obogu, the Under Armour famed guy with the rippled body who looked like a stud. Well, he couldn't play. Sensabaugh reminds me of that guy. Even though athletic, some of these guys are not instinctive enough to make plays on a consistent basis. Football intelligence and desire is a must have as well. When these attributes are combined in a single package, a quality player is what the team has.

Yeah, hopefully he will be ok, but alot around here just assume he will be back to new which is just not true especially when his athleticism was questionable to begin with. Its a really bad injury for a DB, while Jerry showed alot of faith with that contract extension (Jerry makes a habit of doing this, so having his faith makes it questionable), we also have to realistic about it.

Its rather obvious at this point we can't just roll into next year status quo at the safety position, hopefully we can do at least a little something to improve the position with all the other needs we have. Replacing Sensy and giving Church/Matt some competition (2 new safeties) would be ideal, but that won't happen with other needs, so really once again we will probably roll into next season praying that they are as good as we hope....again.

That is exactly what i have seen from him. Paired with a good FS he is able to elevate his game.

And i dont understand all the Sensi hate. To me he is a very good saftety. Plays hard, has good range and can cover well.

I dont think we will let him go. I do think we cant afford to let him go. People underestimate his value to our defense.
Stay positive. Stay focused. Keep smiling.
After all it's a process.

i disagree completely. look at his effort on that fumble vs the saints in OT. the guy was lollygagging to the ball. compare his play to the san fran guys or the seattle guys and it's night n day.

.
If he can cover so well how do you explain the 0 interceptions and 3 passes defensed OVER AN ENTIRE 16 GAME SEASON!

I checked and he had 0 passes defensed in 13 of 16 games.

You know who had more passes defensed than Gerald Sensabaugh in 2012? Here are 2 random names for kicks:
  • 4 PD - Dontari Poe, 350lb Nose Tackle for the Chiefs
  • 4 PD - Erik Walden -- possibly the worst starting 3-4 OLB in the NFL

Iirc he was pointing at Frampton to go get it.

I won't miss him at all.

He's primarily a man coverage safety, and the Cowboys are moving to a scheme in which safeties play mostly zone.

One of the biggest problems on the Cowboys defense is the lack of a safety capable of playing zone coverage.

We'll settle this with a good dust up.

It's amazing how people defend mediocrity.

That's usually the progression though in Dallas. Scream for change the moment another failed season ends. Then start talking yourself into why this guy is good enough and that guy is good enough. Tweak here...a slight tweak there....and we're good to go.

Fast forward to screaming for more change at the conclusion of the following season.

Me? I'd churn this roster as much as possible until we start winning.

The same way fans defended Bradie James who can't a) cover anybody or b) shed a block to save his life. They would bring up James' tackle numbers. Big deal when most of those tackles are 5-7 yards downfield.

All Sensablow has done since he's been here is given up big play after big play while never making one himself. Doesn't like contact either. More of a pile inspector instead of a pile creator. You know, that guy who always shows up right when the play is over.
