Default So what should we expect from a Rob Marinelli Dline?

What type of coach are we getting?

I like Brian Baker but one thing I didn't like about our line is the lack of pass deflections. It didn't look like our guys were taught to bat balls down.

Marinelli has a strong work ethic and they say he has intense workouts for his DL to go through.

He Improved the Lions front from 24th to 9th in sacks and the Bucs had most sacks in league under him. 328.5 out of 416 came from the DL during that span.

I believe he's one of the best DL coaches in the game.

I hope we get him, but I can't see him passing up a DC job, to become our D-line coach, but stranger things have happened.

Well, he would be the obvious replacement for Kiffin, so it may be worth it to him. I mean, how much longer do we expect Kiffin to coach?

I think we will get 2-3 full seasons worth of Monte Kiffin.

When you want to win a game, you have to teach. When you lose a game, you have to learn.

So we traded Joe DeCamillis for Rod Marinelli, not a bad trade

Complete and utter failure, the same we are supposed to for every coach and player brought here.

Yeah, that would be like trading Romo for Rodgers.

More like trading Andy Dalton for Rodgers.

Completely average for one of the best.

It doesn't matter how good of a cook you are, if I give you a loaf of bread and some ham - you're gonna get a ham sandwich. It's all about talent, which we have none of outside Ware.

And at this point I would say our defensive line is slightly below a ham sandwich, right about the PB&J status.

I call this the JJ Watt effect. He probably had more pass deflections then other d-lines combined.
